Joentausta Stuck in Reverse

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Jeffrey Hakim
Jeffrey Hakim

Aku Joentausta opened for 6,000 and cleared the field all the way to Jeff Hakim, who defended from the big blind. Hakim proceeded to check-call a bet of 7,000 on the {10-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop, and then both players checked the {4-Spades} turn.

When the {9-Clubs} completed the board on the river, Hakim seized the initiative and led out for 15,500. Joentausta made the call but mucked when Hakim rolled over the {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flopped flush draw that turned into a rivered pair.

Salvatore Dominated and Out

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Victor Ramdin is short on chips and has been folding the first few hands. He folded the big blind and now he was in the small blind when Giovanni Salvatore shoved his super short stack of 6,900. Ramdin made the fold but the big blind Mark James looked him up.

Salvatore was distraught to see that his {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} was dominated by the {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} of James.

The cards fell {q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Salvatore was out.

Rollercoaster Hand Puts Fundaro At Risk

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

It was a preflop four-bet shove between Ariel Celestino and Giacomo Fundaro. As usual it was the most common coin flip with the {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} for Fundaro and the {K-Clubs}{A-Spades} for his opponent. Fundaro immediately connected on the {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop, but the {6-Clubs} turn and the {10-Clubs} river delivered the backdoor flush for Celestino. He was all in for 130,900 chips, Funado loses two third of his starting stack of Day 3.

Alt Hits Perfect River

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

We caught up with the action on a {K-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} board and Jan Sjavik checked from the blinds. Dinesh Alt made a 8,500 bet from the hijack and Rytis Praninskas in the cutoff made the call. Sjavik called as well and it was still three-way to the river.

Sjavik checked as soon as the {Q-Diamonds} hit. Alt now bet 22,000 and Praninskas didn't waste much time calling. Sjavik over called so it was time for a three-way showdown.

Praninskas first tabled his {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the rivered flush. Alt then showed his {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} for a full house. Sjavik open mucked his {7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for the lower flush. The {Q-Diamonds} on the river was about the best card Alt could hit!

Sarda Falls at the First

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Jeremie Sarda opened for 6,500 from a stack of 72,900. Valeri Savov with a stack of over 200k thought for a while before three-betting him to 15,000. The blinds folded and Sarda decided to make a stand and all of his chips were in the middle.

Sarda tabled {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and was against the pair {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} of Savov. The cards ran out {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Sarda was amongst the first to fall on day 3.
