Antonio Esfandiari
Antonio Esfandiari

Prior to Igor Kurganov's elimination, and his relocation to the feature table, Max Altergott opened to 48,000 from the cutoff. Antonio Esfandiari called on the button, Mike McDonald called in the big blind, and the flop came {8-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. The trio checked.

The turn was a repeat seven - the {7-Diamonds} - and McDonald checked again. Altergott bet 73,000, Esfandiari called, and McDonald folded.

The {3-Spades} completed the board, Altergott checked, and Esfandiari took the opportunity to bet 210,000. The German tanked for a bit, then released his hand.

After Altergott was moved, Fabian Quoss completed from the small blind and Esfandiari raised to 64,000 in the big blind. Quoss called. Quoss then check-called a bet of 76,000 on a flop of {3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, 127,000 on the {2-Spades} turn, and 204,000 after the {10-Diamonds} fell on the river.

Esfandiari showed {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for a king-high flush, and Quoss frustratedly flicked his cards into the muck.

"Run better," the German sighed.
