Matthias De Meulder is enjoying his time in Barcelona so far, he just expressed his amazement over the size of the field. He started with 28,000 today and plays around that same amount right now, but that's not to say nothing happened.
De Meulder was already up lots today, when he lost an versus all in situation for 40,000 each. De Meulder talked a little bit about his plans for the coming months when the cutoff raised to 2,200. De Meulder in the big blind peeked at his cards, and announced all in. The cutoff instantly released and De Meulder started stacking.
Sebastian Von Toperczer raised to 2,500 from the button and found a single call from Johnny Lodden in the big blind. The flop came out and Lodden checked to the raiser. Toperczer knocked the table back, allowing the to fall down on fourth street.
Lodden took this opportunity to put out a bet, making it 3,200 to go. Toperczer called and the completed the board. Lodden bet 5,500, Toperczer instantly called, and Lodden tabled for merely ace-high. Toperczer showed for a straight to the queen to take down the pot.
Toperczer increased his stack to about 74,000 while Lodden’s fell to around 125,000.
Players recently eliminated from the field include EPT Season 6 Berlin Main Event champion Kevin MacPhee, November Niner Federico Butteroni, 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure champion Dimitar Danchev, and recent €50,000 Super High Roller champion Sylvain Loosli.
