Antonius Loses One

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

With 2,000 in the pot and a board reading {8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, Patrik Antonius bet 1,000 from the small blind and then called when his middle-position opponent raised to 2,800. When the {7-Clubs} completed the board on the river, action went check-check and Antonius simply mucked after his opponent rolled over the {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for tens and sevens.

Carrel Runs into Aces

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Charles Carrel
Charles Carrel

We got to the table as the board read {5-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Charlie Carrel had been check-raised by Alexander Kuzmin of Russia. Carrel had initially bet 3,200 into a pot of roughly 7,000, but Kusmin's raise was a cool 10,000. Carrel agonised over a call for a long while: "It's such a weird spot for you to check raise..."

He eventually made the call but mucked his hand as Kuzmin rolled over {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} for the winning hand

Mercier Representing Team PokerStars

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier opened for 650 under the fun and the founder of the EPT, John Duthie, called. Brazil's Joao Simao came along from the cutoff, as did his fellow countryman and Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari from the button, and four players saw a flop of {2-Clubs}{j-Spades}{3-Spades}.

Mercier continued for 1,225, Duthie folded, and Simao popped it to 3,550. Akkari folded, Mercier called, and the both players checked the {3-Hearts} turn as well as the {6-Hearts} river. Mercier tabled the {j-Hearts}{a-Clubs} for top pair, and it was good as Simao sent his cards to the muck.

Kanit vs. Quoss: ACES CRACKED!

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Fabian Quoss
Fabian Quoss

Action folded to German pro Fabian Quoss in the small blind and he just limped. Mustapha Kanit exercised his option in the big with a raise to 850, and Quoss pushed back with a limp-raise to 2,800. Kanit called and the two saw a flop of {j-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}.

Quoss was first to act and led out for 3,000, which Kanit called. When the dealer burned and turned the {9-Hearts}, Quoss checked, Kanit bet 5,400, and Quoss check-raised all in. Kanit snap-called for 17,375.

Kanit: {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Quoss: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

Kanit hit his gin card on the turn to crack the aces of Quoss, and the Italian was shipped the double after the meaningless river was put out.
