Chen's Tens No Good

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Stephen Chidwick opened for 24,000 and Antoly Chen three-bet from the small blind to 78,000. Koichi Nozaki was in the big blind and four-bet to 155,000. Chidwick folded and Chen flatted.

On a {8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop Anatoly Chen open-shoved for 458,000 into a pot worth 348,000. Nozaki went deep into the tank, spending nearly four minutes deliberating over whether to call.

Nozaki called and Chen tabled {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, but they were no good up against the Japanese player's {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}.

The board completed {k-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Nozaki was eliminated in 22nd place worth €40,050.

Basha Rivers a Straight to Triple Up

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Lyndon Basha moved all-in under the gun for 156,000. Paon flat called and then Geilich asked how much he had back. Geilich then moved all-in and Paon snap-called.

Basha: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Geilich: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Paon: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Flop: {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Basha asked for an ace on the flop, and there was one in the window, but the {9-Diamonds} gave Geilich a set and was poised to double up and eliminate two players.

However, the {k-Hearts} came on the turns which gave Paon the lead.

"Then the Queen," said Basha, "Here comes the Queen."

The river card? The {q-Clubs}. Basha held his hands aloft "There is a Lord!" He raked in that pot as Paon took the side-pot off of Geilich who was left with 180,000 behind.

"I might have to marry you and not my fiancée," said Basha referring to the dealer, "So sorry to celebrate, but that is the sickest win of my life."

One For Drinan

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Connor Drinan three-bet a hand not long ago, and check-folded on the flop. Just now, he won those chips back.

Connor Drinan opened to 28,000 from the button, and Jose Carlos Garcia three-bet from the big blind to 102,000. Drinan made the call in position.

Garcia checked on {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{K-Diamonds}, and called the 70,000 bet Drinan made. Both players checked the {4-Clubs} on the turn. The {8-Hearts} hit the river and Garcia checked again. Drinan bet 155,000 forward with just about that behind, and Garcia tanked after a long tank.

Akkari Loses a Race to Bust

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
André Akkari
André Akkari

There was an all-in and call for the second hand in a row as this time Andre Akkari was up against Juan Martin Pastor.

Akkari held {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} whilst Pastor had {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. The flop was {k-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{j-Clubs} which was no help to Pastor. The {j-Hearts} on the turn gave Pastor some counterfeit outs to go with his better two-pair outs, and he got there on the river as the {a-Clubs} gave him aces up, whilst eliminating Akkari in 23rd place (€40,050).

Pastor started the day with 305,000 in chips and has more than doubled that in the levels we've had so far.
