Disastrous Start for Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Ferdinand Le Pichon opened for 650 under the gun and Ben Heath called. Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody then three-bet to 1,850 from the hijack, both his opponents called, and the flop came down {j-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. All three players checked, the dealer burned and turned the {5-Hearts}, and Le Pichon led out for 3,400.

Heath folded, Cody called, and the {8-Diamonds} completed the board on the river. Le Pichon bet again, this time 6,150, and Cody paid him off only to muck when his French opponent tabled the {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for top two.

Set Over Set Sends Moolhuizen to the Rail

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

We missed the elimination of the Netherlands' Mateusz Moolhuizen, but Rob Schiffbauer filled us in on some details.

According to him, Ivan Luca opened for 400 and Moolhuizen called holding pocket nines. Schiffbauer then three-bet to 2,100 with pocket kings, Luca folded, and Moolhuizen called to see the {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{9-Spades} flop. Moolhuizen checked, Schiffbauer bet 2,400, and Moolhuizen put in a big raise to approximately 10,000. Schiffbauer responded by moving all in and Moolhuizen called off.

Neither the {a-} turn nor {4-} river helped Moolhuizen, and his EPT12 Malta Main Event came to a sudden end.

Kisacikoglu Lays Down Pocket Rockets

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

With 4,500 already in the pot and a board reading {q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, Rob Schiffbauer checked from the small blind and Turkey's Orpen Kisacikoglu bet 1,900 from early position. Ilkin Amirov then raised to 4,775 from middle position, Schiffbauer flatted, and Kisacikoglu came along to see the {10-Spades} river.

Two checks say Amirov fire out 7,800, and Schiffbauer hit the tank before releasing. Kisacikoglu took an equal amount of time and ultimately followed suit, but not before showing that he was folding the {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}. Amirov declined to show his hand.

Small Pot for Hochman

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Michael Wang opened for 400 and received a call from Corey Hochman on the button. Christoph Vogelsang came along from the small blind, and it was three-way action to the {3-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop. Vogelsang checked, Wang continued for 650, and Hochman raised to 1,300.

Vogelsang gave it some thought before releasing his hand, and then Wang did the same.

It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us a good excuse to update you on Hochman's stack, which has only increased since the start of play.
