Siddiqui Busts to Sikora

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

The stack of Jaroslaw Sikora keeps on growing. After his raise from under the gun, Shaan Siddiqui moved all in for what looked like 70,000 chips. Sikora snap-called with the {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and the Canadian was at risk with {9-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. "A ten would be nice," Siddiqui said after the flop came {J-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}, but the board completed with the {2-Hearts} turn and the {3-Spades} river instead to bust him.

Matthias De Meulder Eliminated, Kevin Lee Shark More Than Doubles

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Matthias De Meulder
Matthias De Meulder

Matthias De Meulder shoved all in for his last 21,000 from middle position. Patrick Jann right next to him in the hijack asked how much it was, and said "Ok, I call" with a somewhat reluctant voice. The cutoff folded and action was on Kevin Lee Sharp on the button. He pushed all in as well, and both blinds released. Jann asked how much more it was (68,000 total, 47,000 more), and called again.

Matthias De Meulder: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Patrick Jann: {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}
Kevin Lee Sharp: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

The board came {K-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Matthias said "That means it's over! And that means I gotta find something else to do!"

With a big smile De Meulder exited the tournament, just happy he was able to "sneak into the money", as he later himself called it. De Meulder finished in 79th place, good for the min cash of €9,320. Shark more than doubled.

Gathy Destroys Stack

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

With the board reading {2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, Ludovic Riehl checked and Michael Gathy fired a hefty bet of 92,000 for more than half of his remaining stack. Riehl called eventually with the {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for a set of sevens while Gathy could only table the {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} for top pair.

Chadha Busts in Three-Way Pot

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Carlos Chadha
Carlos Chadha

There was a min-raise to 10,000 and Johnny Lodden didn't see that, as he wanted to limp in from the small blind. He was then obliged to call the extra chips before Carlos Chadha moved all in from the big blind for 68,500.

The initial raiser and Lodden called to check down the flop {4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts} and the turn {9-Diamonds}. Lodden then bet the {9-Clubs} river to isolate successfully and showed {8-Spades}{9-Spades} for trips nines, Chadha was gone with the {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

Alibas Busts to Kotelnikov

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Salim Alibas moved all in for his last 21,500 chips from early position and Andrey Kotelnikov called in the big blind with {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}. Alibas was at risk with the {10-Spades}{9-Spades} and the board ran out {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades} to give the Russian two pair and a small boost to his own short stack.

Smain Eliminated in Three-Way Pot

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Mamouni Smain
Mamouni Smain

A short-stacked Mamouni Smain moved all in for his last 18,000 from the hijack and Christoph "Tight-Man1" Vogelsang called from the cutoff. Joni Jouhkimainen didn't have much left in the big blind, but opted just to call, leaving himself 26,500 back. The {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop saw Jouhkimainen commit his remaining chips, and it proved enough to get Vogelsang to fold.

Jouhkimainen: {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Smain: {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

Smain was behind but drawing to live cards, neither of which came as the {10-Hearts} turn was followed by the {A-Diamonds} river.

Mitrotta Busts Roberts

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

"Oh, I thought he had more than that," Antonio Mitrotta said after raking in the pot. The jacks of Brian Roberts were already in the muck and the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} were tabled in front of him. The board was reading {Q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{K-Spades}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Mitrotta had improved to a pair of kings on the flop to score the knockout.

De Abreu and Khorchidian Among Recent Flurry of Eliminations

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

There has been a flurry of eliminations since the bubble burst.

In one hand, Nichan Khorchidian got his stack all in preflop holding the {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} only to run into the {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} of Michael Ho. The board ran out {6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, and that was all she wrote for Khorchidian.

One table over, David De Abreu was all in with the {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} and way behind the {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} of Antonio Mitrotta. The board ran out {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, and De Abreu's Day 3 run came to an end.

De Abreu and Khorchidian busted in 88th and 87th place respectively.

Lakemeier Sends Rocha to the Rail

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Jens Lakemeier opened for 12,000 under the gun and Alexander Rocha three-bet all in for 51,000 from middle position. Action folded back to Lakemeier, who made the call.

Lakemeier: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Rocha: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

It was a flip, but not after the flop came down {7-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} to give Lakemeier a set.

"Eight of hearts," Rocha requested. The dealer instead put out the {K-Spades} to give him a gutshot to Broadway.

The dealer burned one last time and put out the {2-Spades}, the last card Rocha would see in the EPT12 Malta Main Event before making his way to the payout desk in 90th place.
