No Showdown in Squeezed Pot

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Jaroslaw Sikora opened for 33,000 from early position and Luc Greenwood in the hijack made the call. Vanessa Selbst in the cutoff squeezed to 106,000 and the button and both blinds released. Sikora and Greenwood both called.

All three of them checked on the {J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop and {7-Spades} turn. The river came the {4-Clubs} and action checked to Selbst. She bet 185,000 and Sikora released almost immediately. Greenwood took a bit longer, but he too folded his hand eventually.

Foxen Folds to Cates' Shove

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Daniel Cates raised under the gun to 40,000 and the action folded to William Foxen who three-bet from the small blind to 116,000. Cates gave it some thought, but ultimately he moved all in to put Foxen at risk.

Foxen tanked for a bit before folding, and Cates raked in the pot.

Mikhail Rudoy Eliminated in 24th Place

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Mikhail Rudoy shoved his last 188,000 to the middle from first position. Action folded around to Luc Greenwood on the button who asked for a count. Once he learned it was 188,000, he called. Selbs and Mattsson both folded their blinds and it was time to put the cards on their back.

Luc Greenwood: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Mikhail Rudoy: {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

Without much drama the dealer dealt the board: {9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. Rudoy hit the rail in 24th place, taking home €25,360. The remaining 23 players are now guaranteed €28,420.

Selbst Busts Soshnikov

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Vanessa Selbst opened for 27,000 from the hijack and Ivan Soshnikov on the button three-bet to 80,000. When both blinds had gotten out of the way it was Selbst who shoved all in. Soshnikov must have had around 300,000 at the time but it went all rather quick, as the Russian former high roller champion instantly called.

Ivan Soshnikov: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Vanessa Selbst: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and Selbst knocked out Soshnikov. Down to 24 players, time for a redraw. We'll get you the new seating as soon as possible.

Govert Metaal
Govert Metaal

Vanessa Selbst opened the hijack for 26,000 and Govert Metaal in the cutoff shoved for 117,000. The button and both blinds released but Selbst made the call.

Govert Metaal: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Vanessa Selbst: {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

The board would only consist baby cards with {2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Selbst her hand held up. Exit for Metaal in 26th place (€25,360).

Palumbo Hits Big, Wins Big

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Rocco Palumbo opened the hijack and Mikhail Rudoy made the call from the big blind. The flop came {K-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Rudoy check called a continuation bet. Both players checked the {10-Diamonds} on the turn and the {5-Spades} fell on the river. Rudoy bet out 93,000, around 70% of the pot Palumbo told us afterwards. Palumbo raised to 293,000 and Rudoy went into the tank. He thought long and hard and eventually got the clock called on him. With just a few seconds left he made the call, but he mucked upon seeing Palumbo's {4-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for the rivered straight.

Palumbo was up to 1.5 million after that hand, but lost some back in the two following hands and plays 1.4 million now.
