Troyanovskiy vs. Peters

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Action folded to Vladimir Troyanovskiy in the small blind and he opted to limp. David Peters exercised his option in the big with a raise to 1,000, and Troyanovskiy called to see an {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{q-Spades} flop, which they both checked. After the dealer burned and turned the {A-Diamonds}, Troyanovskiy bet 1,100 and Peters folded.

It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us a good excuse to update you on their chip counts.

Schemion Stuck in Reverse

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Ole Schemion raised to 700 from the cutoff and action folded to the UK's Andrew Leathem, who defended from the big blind. Leathem proceeded to check-call a bet of 675 on the {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop, and then both players checked the {2-Clubs} river.

When the {4-Clubs} completed the board on the river, Leathem led out for 1,600 and Schemion wasted little time in folding. Schemion is down quite a bit since the last time we checked in with him.

Did Chen's Smile Costs Him More Chips?

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

On a {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop, Charlie Carrel checked in the small blind, Anatoly Chen checked in the big blind, then Vicente checked from late positon. Rumen Naev took a 1,500 stab at the pot from the cutoff, which Carrel raised to 4,300. Only Chen called and it was heads-up to the {2-Hearts} turn.

Both players checked the turn, with Carrel checking the {8-Hearts} river. Chen bet 8,500, and Carrel immediately reached for chips to riffle. Carrel was trying to get a read from his opponent by chatting to him, and whatever he said made Chen smile.

"Why the smile?" said Carrel, "It's not usually good when they smile."

Carrel ultimately folded and was shown {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for his troubles.

Veloso Climbs to 50K

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

David peters started the preflop betting round with a raise to 800 from early position. Three folds later and Sergey Sergeev three-bet to 2,200. Sergio Da Silva Veloso four-bet to 5,075 from two seats to Sergeev's left, and only Sergeev called.

Sergeev check-called a 5,100 bet on the {8-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop, before check-folding to an 8,175 bet on the {10-Hearts} turn.

Herold Jams On Dos Santos and Hof

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

A raise from Joao Dos Santos in middle position was three-bet by Natalie Hof in the next seat along, which in turn was four-bet to 2,500 by Kai Herold to Hof's immediate left. Both Dos Santos and Hof called.

The dealer spread the {9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop and the action checked to Herold, who moved all-in for 7,875. Dos Santos folded, Hof checked her cards before flicking them into the muck.

Schiffbauer Loses His First Hand

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Rob Schiffbauer, who travels in the same circle as Paul Newey and Senh Ung, late registered the Main Event and took a seat at the same table as [Removed:30] and Andre Akkari.

In his very first hand, he raised to 600 from early position and Kebe called from middle position. Dominik Nitsche came along from the big blind, and the triumvirate took a flop of {2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Nitsche checked, Schiffbauer continued for 800, and only Kebe called to see the {9-Spades} turn.

Schiffbauer slowed down with a check and then snap-folded when Kebe tossed out 1,600.

Sidepots Galore: Kebe Scores Double Elimination in Big Pot

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

A big four-way hand just went down that involved Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari and resulted in a double elimination.

It began when Antonio Costa Alfaia opened for 650 and [Removed:30], a former football players for Crystal Palace FC, called from the hijack. The player on the button came along, Akkari did the same from the small blind, and a short-stacked Muzaffer Akin called from the big to make it five-way action to the {10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop.

Akkari checked, Akin shoved all in for 5,575, and Alfaia moved all in over the top for 12,875. Kebe thought for a moment before making the call, the players on the button folded, and Akkari hit the tank before also calling. Akkai and Kebe then checked the {7-Diamonds} turn, and then Akkari checked for a third time on the {Q-Spades} river. Kebe fired out 20,000, and Akkari thought for a bit before releasing the {2-Spades}{2-Clubs} for a flopped set.

Kebe then tabled the {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for the nuts, which of course bested the {9-}{4-} of Akin and {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} of Alfaia.
