Unsal Building an Unusually Big Stack

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

We happened upon a big pot on the river with around 25,000 already in the middle and a board reading {6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{q-Hearts}. Lucas Blanco checked from the hijack, and Turkey's Onur Unsal did the same from the cutoff.

We may have missed the early betting, but we do know Unsal picked up the pot with the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} after Blanco missed his straight and flush draws with the {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. With that, Unsal is up to a healthy 75,000 in chips.

Update on Birnbaum's First EPT Main Event

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

With around 2,000 in the pot and a board reading {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{q-Spades}{5-Spades}, the player in the big blind checked as did Igor Pihela in the hijack. Nancy Birnbaum then bet 1,150 from the cutoff, Walter Buss called from the button, and the big blind got out of the way. Pihela made the call and three players saw the {J-Spades} river, which they all checked.

Pihela tabled the {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a pair of queens, and it was good as both Birnbaum and Buss mucked.

Despite losing that pot, Birnbaum is still up a bit from the starting stack.

Ainsworth Up to 40K

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Jude Ainsworth raised to 475 from under the gun, Chris Moneymaker called from a couple of seats across before Jean-Pascal Savard called from the big blind.

Ainsworth continued for 1,150 on the {3-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} flop, which prompted quick folds from his opponents.

How Many Chips?

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Ireland's Dara O'Kearney has been fast out of the blocks and is up to almost 70,000 chips. As is Alex Bilokur on 65,000 at the last count.

Update on a Couple Team PokerStars Pros

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

With around 5,000 in the pot and a board reading {q-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, Ukraine's Andriy Lyubovetskiy bet 2,800 from the cutoff into Team PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker on the button. The 2003 World Series of Poker champ, who recently turned 40, gave it some thought but ultimately released his hand.

Meanwhile, one table over, fellow Team Pro Jake Cody checked from the cutoff with around 6,000 in the pot and a flop reading {k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. His opponent, former PCA champ Dimitar Danchev, bet 2,700 from the button, and it did the trick as Cody gave it up.

A Nice Bluff Even For You

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Everyone folded to Julian Thomas on the button and he raised to 600. Francis-Nicolas Bouchard was in the small blind and he three-bet to 1,400. The big blind got out of the way, but Thomas called.

Bouchard led for 2,000 on the {7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, Thomas checked his cards before sending them back to the deal.

"A nice bluff, even for you," joked Thomas as Bouchard restacked his chips.
