Greenwood Ousted From Top-Heavy Table

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

We just ran into Lucas Greenwood who had been knocked out by Joao Vieira, and he explained to us what happened. Joao Vieira raised from the button after which Greenwood moved all in for 25,000 from the big blind holding {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Vieira called with {A-}{10-} and he took down the pot, as neither players improved on the board.

Greenwood's former table is loaded with chips, as we spotted four known players with more than 130,000 chips. The average stack right now is 77,000 chips.

Lecomte Eliminated

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

We ran into Quentin Lecomte who had just gotten up from his table. The French pro told us the details of his bust out.

Under the gun opened for 2,700 and his neighbor called. Lecomte shoved all in for 27,000 right next to him with {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} and action folded back around to the initial raiser. He too folded, but the first caller made the call with {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} and beat out Lecomte's black tens.

Jacks Are Good For Petersen

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Russia's Vitaly Lunkin raised to 2,500 from early position, Team PokerStars Online called in the cutoff, and Elena Stover called in the big blind. Stover checked the {8-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop, Lunkin bet 5,000 and only Petersen called.

Lunkin doubled his bet size to 10,000 on the {5-Hearts} turn, but Petersen stuck around. Both players checked the {8-Spades} riiver, Lunkin tabling {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Petersen {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for the best hand.

There's No Stopping Chartier

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Sam Chartier
Sam Chartier

Sam Chartier began the day as the chip leader, and he's done nothing but build since then.

In a recent hand, Chartier opened for 2,700 under the gun and action folded all the way around to Gerald Karlic, who defended from the big blind. The {9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop saw Karlic check-call a bet of 3,400, and the dealer burned and turned the {A-Diamonds}.

Karlic check-called another bet, this time 5,100, and then both players checked the {9-Hearts} river. Karlic rolled over the {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, but it was no good as Chartier held the {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} in the hole.

Daniel Dvoress Done For

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Daniel Dvoress got up from his table and was heading for the exit, when we asked him what had happend.

Stephen Bantick opened from the hijack and with just 22,000 behind, Dvoress pushed all in from the small blind. The big blind folded but Bantick made the call holding {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}. Dvoress had {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} and flopped pretty bad with {A-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}. The {J-Spades} on the turn brought him a bunch of outs but the river {9-} wasn't one of them. Exit for Dvoress.

Visser Beats Kings and Jacks with Tens

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Ruben Visser
Ruben Visser

Ruben Visser just caught a miracle river card to keep his tournament alive against two players that had his pocket pair dominated. The former EPT London champion raised to 2,800 under the gun and the player on his left, Benjamin Garcia Rivera, called. From the hijack it was Zoltan Gal who moved all in for for 25,200 and Visser shoved for 41,300, which was called quickly by Rivera.

Gal: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Rivera: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Visser: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and both Gal and Rivera were visibly upset as the river hit. Visser laughed, as he didn't see this one coming in the slightest, and he's now sitting on more than the current tournament average.

"Bad Things Happen When You're Around"

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Just before the expiration of Level 11, we happened upon the table of Team PokerStars Pro Chris Moneymaker and caught him in a hand with Aleksandar Denishev.

We picked up the action with around 15,000 in the pot and a board reading {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} when Moneymaker bet 5,500 from early position and Denishev called from the hijack.

"Get away from here," Moneymaker jokingly chastised us as we observed the action. "Bad things happen when you're around."

"Sorry, we've a job to do," was our simple reply.

When the {10-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Moneymaker bet 12,000 and Denishev quickly folded the {q-Spades}{j-Spades} face up. With that, Moneymaker won the pot and had to eat a little crow.
