Kurganov Busts Kanit

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Mustpha Kanit raised to 38,000 and Igor Kurganov made the call from the blinds, after which the flop showed {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}.

Kurganov checked to Kanit, who checked behind, and the turn was the {2-Spades}.

Kurganov checked again on the turn and Kanit bet by tossing in two chips worth 25,000 each. Kanit announced his bet verbally, and it sounded like 40,000.

Kurganov check-raised to 130,000 and Kanit tanked for a bit before making the call.

On the river the {10-Clubs} hit and Kurganov moved all in, putting Kanit at risk for his last 280,000. Eventually Kanit called, showing {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and Kurganov won the pot with {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}.

Juanda Doubles in a Battle of the Blinds

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

John Juanda is back to almost 700,000 chips after he doubled through Sam Greenwood.

Juanda, the winner of the recent EPT Barcelona Main Event, raised all-in for 325,000 from the small blind, and Greenwood wasted no time at all in looking him up. Juanda revealed the {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and Greenwood the {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}. Neither Juanda nor Greenwood improved on the {7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{k-Spades}{k-Hearts} board, Juanda's jack-kicker played and he doubled to 680,000.

More for Urbanovich, Eliminates Sammartino

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Steve O'Dwyer made it 45,000 under the gun and Dzmitry Urbanovich in the big blind called. Urbanovich check called a bet of 60,000 on {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and check called another 125,000 on the {K-Clubs} turn. The {6-Clubs} completed the board and Urbanovich took it down with {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} after both players checked the river.

The next hand action folded to Dario Sammartino on the button. He thought about it for a bit before moving in for about 275,000. Urbanovich in the small blind casually threw in some 25,000 chips to indicate he was calling. Steve O'Dwyer folded his big blind.

Dzmitry Urbanovich : {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Dario Sammartino: {A-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Sammartino made his exit in 15th place.

Schemion's Tournament Life On the Line

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Action folded to Ole Schemion on the button and he open-shoved for 274,000. Daniel Dvoress folded the small blind, and Alex Bilokur gave it some thought before calling from the big.

Bilokur: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Schemion: {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

Schemion got it in good, but Bilokur was drawing to two live cards. The {6-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop kept Schemion in the lead, and he stayed there as the {5-Spades} blanked on the turn followed by the {8-Clubs} on the river.

Gieles Pushes Vogelsang Off a Pot

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Luuk Gielse of the Netherlands raised to 50,000 from under the gun and the action folded to Germany's Christoph Vogelsang on the button who three-bet to 130,000. Both blinds folded, but Gieles called after asking Vogelsang to let him have view of his stack.

The dealer put the {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop onto the blue felt, and Gieles checked. Vogelsang kept his foot firmly on the gas and continued with a 110,000 bet. Gieles quickly moved all-in for 300,000 chips effective, and Vogelsang folded equally as fast.

Right after losing a crucial pot to Luuk Gieles, Christoph Vogelsang has been eliminated. O'Dwyer opened under the gun to 45,000 and Vogelsang pushed all in for about 270,000 right next to him. Action folded back around to O'Dwyer who was quick to call.

Steve O'Dwyer: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Christph Vogelsang: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

Vogelsang ended up not hitting anything with the board reading {4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Down to 13 players.

Zinno Takes Out Bilokur in 13th

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Alex Bilokur
Alex Bilokur

Alex Bilokur moved all in for 163,000 chips and John Juanda, on his direct left, went into the tank for quite a while.

While Juanda was tanking, Bilokur got up from his seat and put his iPad in his backpack. Ole Schemion and Daniel Dvoress chuckled.

Eventually Juanda folded, and it was Anthony Zinno made the call from the button.

Bilokur: {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Zinno: {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

The board ran out {J-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Bilokur was knocked out in 13th place. In this tournament eight places are paid, and we are getting closer and closer to the €107,550 bubble.

Juanda Doubles

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

John Juanda opened the button to 47,000 and Sam Greenwood folded his small blind. Thomas Muehloecker in the big blind tanked for a bit, studied Juanda's stack, and moved all in. Juanda thought for a few seconds before calling.

John Juanda: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Thomas Muehloecker: {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}

What started out as a coin flip soon turned to just about a lock on the hand for Juanda: {10-Hearts}{J-Spades}{Q-Spades} on the flop. The {4-Hearts} on the turn sealed the deal for the EPT Barcelona Main Event champion and the {K-Hearts} on the river was there just to make things official. Juanda doubled his 572,000 stack, Muehloecker down to around 40 big blinds.

Last Year's Runner-Up Stays Alive

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Igor Kurganov opened for 45,000 from the cutoff and Paul Newey, who finished runner-up in this very event one year ago, three-bet all in for 128,000 total from the button. The blinds both folded, and Kurganov, who had chips to spare, made the call.

Newey: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Kurganov: {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Newey was ahead, and he stayed there on the {5-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{j-Spades} flop. The {K-Hearts} turn gave Kurganov a gutshot, but it didn't come in as the {K-Spades} paired the board on the river to improve Newey to a full house.
