Like fellow finalist Sam Greenwood, Daniel Dvoress also hails from Toronto but is ranked slightly lower then his fellow Canadian in the country’s all time money list: he is #55 to Greenwood’s #19. Dvoress’s live tournament winnings total more than $1.5 million, a sum including his his seventh place in the PCA 2016 Super High Roller for $286,920 and sixth place in the $50k High Roller a few days later for $235,600. One of his most successful runs was during the EPT’s debut stop in Malta in March last year where he cashed five times for a combined €330k, including a monster €263,000 for third place in the €25k High Roller. Dvoress is also a poker coach and, playing as “Oxota”, has sizeable online results to his name, including winning the SCOOP $2k NLH event for $317,911. Dvoress has had a glittering career in online tournaments and cash games, including victory in a $2,100 SCOOP Hold'em event in May 2015 for more than $300,000. He has also been sharing his wisdom alongside the likes of Phil Galfond and Jason Koon with subscribers of a training site. He took up poker while at school, joining a lunchtime game in the school cafeteria, then resumed playing to pay off student loans while studying psychology at university.
