Thorel Pays off Peters

Level 1 : 100/200, 25 ante

On the {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{7-Spades} river, Jean-Noel Thorel bet 1,025 and David Peters raised to 8,800 with the Frenchman making the call. Peters flipped over {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for the nut straight and Thorel let out a "oh crap" in French before mucking his cards. The next hand, Thorel three-bet an Alen Bilic open to 5,100 ... and then claimed to have misread the chips.

Greenwood Takes from Chadha

Level 1 : 100/200, 25 ante
Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

Carlos Chadha raised to 650 and Luc Greenwood called out of the big blind. On the flop {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Greenwood check-called a bet of 800 and did so again for 1,800 on the {3-Diamonds} turn. The {J-Spades} came on the river and Greenwood checked for a third time.

Chadha bet 4,200 and Greenwood snap-called by tossing in a T-1,000 chip to see his opponent turn over {A-Spades}{9-Clubs} for top pair. Greenwood had that beat with {3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and claimed the pot.

Four-Bets Out Early in the High Roller

Level 1 : 100/200, 25 ante

Aussie Millions Main Event Champion Ari Engel has broken out the four-bets in level one against Alexander Ivarsson. After Engel opened to 800 from the hijack, Alexander Ivarsson took it upon himself to three-bet from the big blind to 3,000. Engel took a moment to think before adding additional chips to his original bet and four-betting to 9,000. Ivarsson folded.

"You come to this table and four-bet my friends!" said Chance Kornuth, "To be fair, I'd four-bet him as well!"

Winz is Wincing

Level 1 : 100/200, 25 ante

Berthold Winz lost a big pot early on to Nicholas Palma with the latter getting value from pocket queens and then got moved tables. On the {8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{5-Hearts} river, Winz then bet 500 and Sergey Lebedev raised to 1,300. The German called and mucked when he was shown {5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for two pair.

Tuna First Seat Open

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante
Akin Tuna
Akin Tuna

Rocco Palumbo three-bet an open-raise and a call to 2,200 and then Akin Tuna, the initial raiser, wanted to squeeze in a further reraise. However, he threw in a T-5,000 chip first and the dealer then told him it was just a call. Tuna was slightly annoyed by then and checked behind the {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop. Palumbo bet the {6-Hearts} turn for 2,000 and Tuna folded, getting shown the {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}.

A few minutes later, Tuna was involved in another big pot and called a bet of 6,200 by Jean-Noel Thorel on the {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs} turn. Thorel continued for 6,500 on the {J-Clubs} river and Tuna shoved for what looked like 20,000. Thorel announced the call and the dealer asked him twice, because it sounded almost as like fold.

Tuna flipped over {9-Spades}{8-Hearts} for a flopped straight and Thorel stood up from his massage, looked at the board twice and then roller over {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for a full house.

Gieles Takes it on the River

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

Mike McDonald raised to 500 from the hijack and Luuk Gieles then three-bet to 1,550 from the cutoff. Artem Litvinov called in the big blind and so did McDonald. On the {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop and the {4-Spades} turn, all three players checked. The {10-Spades} river was checked to Gieles and his bet of 3,100 enforced two folds.
