MacPhee Busts Drinan

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Kevin MacPhee - Connor Drinan
Kevin MacPhee - Connor Drinan

Kevin MacPhee raised to 9,000 from the cutoff and Winfred Yu on the button made the call. Connor Drinan squeezed to 37,000 from the small blind and the big blind folded. MacPhee four-bet to 85,000 which saw Yu get out of the way. Drinan shoved all in for what we estimate was around 270,000 total, MacPhee made the call.

Kevin MacPhee: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Connor Drinan: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Drinan made his exit.

Timex Runs Out of Chips

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Mike McDonald
Mike McDonald

Mustapha Kanit raised to 9,000 and Niall Farrell called from one seat over before Mike "Timex" McDonald moved all in for his last 43,500. Kanit called but then folded to the shove of Farrell.

McDonald: {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Farrell: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Spades} and McDonald grabbed his belongings on the turn already, wishing his opponents good luck.

Almost at the same time, Felix Bleiker was also sent to the rail. The Swiss shipped his stack to Dario Sammartino's pocket kings.

Margereson Busts for the Last Time

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

We're unsure what had happened prior to our arrival, but we are sure Scott Margereson has been eliminated. We're also sure he won't make a comeback, as this was his second bullet.

On a board of {6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} we saw 27,000 in front of Mike Watson on the button. Scott Margereson, seated in the big blind we believe, had his entire stack of 134,000 in the middle. Watson reluctantly called after giving it some thoughts, and Margereson showed {J-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Watson was the owner of {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Margereson made his exit after the useless {K-Diamonds} completed the board.

Luca Busts Moraes with Aces

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Rafael da Silva Moraes
Rafael da Silva Moraes

Pre-flop Moraes raised to 9,000 and found callers in Ivan Luca, Dario Sammartino and Bryn Kenney. The flop came {9-Spades}{q-Spades}{6-Clubs} and it was checked to Moraes who put out a continuation bet of 11,000. Ivan Luca and Dario Sammartino called, while Bryn Kenney got out of the way. On the turn, which was the {7-Clubs}, Sammartino checked a second time, and this time so did Moraes, allowing Luca to bet 48,000. Sammartino folded and action was back on Moraes.

Moraes went deep into the tank, checking and re-checking his hole cards whilst staring intently at the board. Eventually he moved all-in for his remaining hundred thousand or so chips and Luca snap called.

Luca: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Moraes: {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Moraes had outs, nine in total, but the {5-Clubs} wasn't one of them and he exited just as the final level of the day started.

Carrel Doubles in "Incredible Hand"

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Winfred Yu
Winfred Yu

"This hand is incredible" whispered Jason Wheeler who had gotten up from the table while the confrontation between Yu and Carrel was still in progress. Here's what Wheeler told us had happened.

Kevin MacPhee raised to 9,000 under the gun and Winfred Yu right next to him made the call. Charlie Carrel over called from the cutoff before Pratyush Buddiga squeezed to 35,000 from the big blind. The suqeeze was reason enough for MacPhee to fold but Yu made the call once more.

Action was now on Carrel in the cutoff and he shoved for 272,000 total. Buddiga mucked his cards but Yu wasn't willing to do the same just yet. The player from Hong Kong tanked for a bit before he called.

Charlie Carrel: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Winfred Yu: {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and Carrel doubled up, leaving Yu with just around 180,000.

Kenney Spikes Lucky River

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Bryn Kenney was all in and at risk before the flop for his last 76,500 and he was called by Sean Winter, who also held the dominating hand.

Kenney: {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Winter: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}

Both players paired up on the flop {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{4-Clubs} with Kenney now in even bigger trouble. The {5-Clubs} turn was a blank, but the magic {Q-Diamonds} river gave Kenney trips and a fortunate double.

A Small Dent in Bertilsson's Stack

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel raised to 15,000 and Paul Newey called before Anton Bertilsson clicked it up to 52,000 from the cutoff. Thorel announced all in and Newey folded, Bertilsson called without asking for an exact count.

Thorel was at risk with the {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and Bertilsson's run good was halted, the Swede only had {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. The board {7-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} provided no help for the chip leader and he lost 166,500 chips to Thorel.
