Petrangelo Joint Chip Leader

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

On the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} turn, Nick Petrangelo check-called a bet of 75,000 out of the big blind against the button aggression by Rocco Palumbo. The Italian then slowed down on the {6-Diamonds} river and Petrangelo's {A-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} scooped the pot to see the American pretty much close the gap to chip leader Anton Bertilsson.

An Ace is Enough for Farrell

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Mike Watson raised to 27,000 and Niall Farrell made it 70,000 to go from one seat over in the hijack seat. Watson asked his table neighbor for the stack size and Farrell replied with a "around 450,000" to see Watson call. Both players checked down the board {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}{A-Hearts} and the {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades} of Farrell won the pot and put players on almost even stacks.

Rossiter Takes from Johnson

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

In the cutoff, Keith Johnson raised to 30,000 and Dario Sammartino called from one seat over. Jeff Rossiter then squeezed to 110,000 out of the small blind with Johnson making the call and Sammartino tossing his cards into the muck.

The duo checked down the {10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop and the {2-Diamonds} turn before Rossiter bet the {10-Spades} river for 135,000. Johnson grabbed a blue T-5,000 chip and was seemingly willing to call, but kept pondering about his decision before sending the cards into the muck. Chance Kornuth asked Rossiter to show one card but the Aussie just smiled and denied the wish.

Another Double for Heath

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Ben Heath raised to 30,000 and Niall Farrell re-raised to 82,000 from the button. Heath asked whether Farrell covered him, which he did, before calling. On a flop of {10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, Heath bet 96,000 and Farrell moved all-in. There was a snap shove from the other end of the table as the young pro turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}. Farrell had out-flopped Heath holding {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} but it was Heath who was ahead.

The board completed {5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} doubling up Heath to just under one million in chips

From the cutoff, Pratyush Buddiga moved all in for 182,000 and Ben Heath pushed forward his recently won stack of T-25,000 chips to put Mustapha Kanit behind him all in as well, the Italian folded.

Buddiga: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Heath: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

The board ran out {8-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and neither over card or straight arrived for Buddiga to send him to the rail.

Mustapha Kanit Doubles Up Through Kurganov

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Igor Kurganov raised to 24,000 and Mustapha Kanit moved all-in for 152,000. The two friends had been amicably chatting away all day next to eachother on the table, but this decision was a big one for Kurganov. He was tormented and probably wasn't helped by Kanit talking to him.

"Are you feeling good?" he asked Kurganov. "I'm feeling good I'm just thinking," came the reply.

Kurganov made the call and both players' cards were turned over.

Kurganov: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Kanit: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}{j-Spades}{j-Clubs} and Kanit raked in a pot. "Don't worry Igor, I'm going to send Firaldo to the pub before you," said Kanit, referring to tablemate Niall Farrell's online name

Igor Kurganov Busts to Farrell

Igor Kurganov Eliminated

In the next hand after being crippled against Kanit, Kurganov moved all-in for his remaining 111,000 chips and Farrell looked him up.

Kurganov: {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Farrell: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

It looked like Kurganov would be doubling up so quickly after losing a big pot, as the flop came {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. The turn of the {10-Clubs} seemed to help his cause but the {a-Diamonds} eliminated him.

Game Over for Farrell

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Niall Farrell
Niall Farrell

Niall Farrell opened to 26,000 from under the gun and Charlie Carrel then shoved for what looked like 300,000 from one seat over. Farrell made the call and it was a coin flip for the tournament life of the EPT12 Malta Main Event champion.

Farrell: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Carrel: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}

The flop {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} saw Carrel improve to a pair of aces while Farrell had some outs on the {8-Spades} turn. "Come on, straight flush!" Mustapha Kanit joked, but the {5-Hearts} river was a blank. Carrel shook hands with Farrel and wished him a nice time in the pub before then remarking to Kanit "I just wanted to see you and firaldo battle" based on the previous banter on their table.
