Hunter on the Prowl

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

There might be a late contender for day 1a chipleader after this hand at Ian Hunter's table.

Joel Micka opened to 1,500 and Ian Hunter called. Matthew Davenport raised to 5,300 from the button and Espen Solaas jammed from the small. It folded round to Micka, who let his hand go, before Hunter rejammed. Davenport went into the tank before finally calling and each player's hand was turned over.

Hunter: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Davenport: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Solaas: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

Hunter was in great shape to eliminate two players and the board came {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} to ensure he did so and add a sizeable portion of chips to his stack

Litvinov Gets Some More

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

While the chip tower of Artem Litvinov cannot necessarily be counted to the exact amount, it definitely contains more chips than fellow big stack Kamran Aliyev on the same table. The Azerbaijani just opened to 1,400 and Litvinov flat-called on the cutoff.

On the flop {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, Aliyev continued for 2,300 and was called before giving up the pot when the {9-Spades} turn saw him check-fold to a bet of 5,775 by Litvinov.

Bernies Gets some Berries from Mateos

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Joining the action on the {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{A-Spades} turn, Gilles Bernies checked the small blind and Adrian Mateos bet 4,600. Bernies asked his opponent how much he started with and then check-raised to 11,500. Mateos called and the {4-Hearts} appeared on the river. Bernies led for 18,500 and Mateos tanked for a minute before making the call.

Bernies flipped over {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} for the nut flush and the Spaniard mucked. Other notables on the table include Paul-Francois Tedeschi and Georgios Zisimopoulos as well as Jeremy Nock.

Boatman Busts Coyle

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Barny Boatman raised to 1,350 under the gund and got callers in Dominykas Karmazinas in the small blind and Fergal Coyle in the big blind. The flop came {2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{j-Hearts} and it was checked to Boatman who bet 1,650. Karmazinas called before Coyle moved all-in for his remaining 4,150 chips. Boatman made the call and Karmazinas folded.

Coyle: {j-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Boatman: {j-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The board completed {5-Spades}{10-Spades} and Coyle was eliminated late on day 1a

McDonald Catches Aliyev's Semi-Bluff

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

On the river of a board {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, Kamran Aliyev bet 11,400 out of the small blind and Mike McDonald pondered about his decision on the button. Ultimately, "Timex" made the call and was shown {3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} by Aliyev to scoop the pot with {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. The same table also features the other big stacks Victor Ilyukhin and Artem Litvinov as well as francesco Delfoco.

Magirius Pushes Out Manolea

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Joining the action on the {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} turn, Sven Magirius check-raised from 4,500 to 15,000 out of the small blind and Luciana Manoela called to see the {J-Clubs} river. Magirius now bet 18,000 and Manolea only had 28,000 behind to eventually let go. "Even if I don't have it, it's still a tough call," the German added.

With Magirius on the up again, another player has consistently added to his stack one table over: Vojtech Ruzicka. The Czech is quickly approaching six digits.

Some Eliminations

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Here is a list of players who won't be making it to day 2

Habib Ousts Vieira

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Action was pre-flop and Walid Bou Habib opened only to get three-bet to 3,200 from the player in the big blind Joao Vieira. Habib four-bet to 8,500 and was shoved on by Vieira. Habib thought for a few minutes before making the call.

Habib: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Vieira: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

There was a queen in the window, and the flop had a lot more in store for Habib as it came {q-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. The {3-Clubs} offered no sweats to Vieira who was looking for a single king, but the {10-Diamonds} bricked which meant that Vieira was eliminated. Habib moves within touching distance of 100,000 chips
