Darryll Fish

The player under the gun raised to 525 and found three callers, including Kevin MacPhee in the small blind, and Darryl Fish in the big blind. The four players saw a flop of {4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades}.

It was checked to Fish, and he bet 1,000. MacPhee was the only caller. The turn was the {10-Spades} and again MacPhee checked to Fish who bet 1,700, which MacPhee called. The river was another {10-Clubs}, and MacPhee checked a third time. Fish bet a third time, this time 5,300 and that was enough to force MacPhee out of the pot.

Both players have decent stacks here on day 1a, as they look to build a steady start to their Main Event

Litvinov vs Aliyev

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

With around 12,000 chips in the middle and the board laying {7-Clubs}{A-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, Artem Litvinov bet 4,800 and then faced the check-raise of Kamran Aliyev in the small blind to 18,000. Litvinov started his usual table talk and gave his opponent either {8-}{9-} or {4-}{5-} while Aliyev replied "and you have something like ace-ten."

Litvinov took around three minutes before folding and was then shown the {5-Clubs} by Aliyev, who added an "nice fold buddy" just to rub it in.

Magirius Thriving

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Padraig Cody-Lally, Andreas Leledakis and Albert Sapiano have been eliminated. Sven Magirius was responsible for the latter's bustout after Sapiano had gotten his last 12,000 in with {J-Spades}{5-Spades} on a flop of {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Magirius looked him up with the {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and the better kicker held up on {7-Clubs} turn and {A-Spades} river.

Kempe and Thomas in Trouble

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

On the three-way turn {K-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades}, the action was checked to Rainer Kempe and the German bet 2,200 from the button. Michel Bringuier called in the small blind before both then folded to the check-raise of Georgios Zisimopoulos. The Greek had bet 6,100 and that was enough to scoop the pot.

One table over, Kamran Aliyev and Julian Thomas battled. A raise to 1,450 was laying in front of the player from Azerbaijan and Thomas then squeezed to 3,900 in the small blind. Aliyev called and they saw the flop {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. Both checked and Thomas then check-called the {9-Spades} turn for 3,800 before checking the {7-Spades} river as well.

Aliyev bet 11,600 to almost put his opponent all in and Thomas eventually folded after not getting any info from the table talk.

Greenwood Up and Away

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

It was Sam Greenwood who busted Andreas Leledakis and Christopher Kruk as well as Fabrice Soulier confirmed what exactly had happened. Sam Greenwood raised to 500 from the cutoff and Leledakis made it 1,500 to go from the small blind before Greenwood's four-bet to 3,500 was just called.

On the flop {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}, Leledakis check-called a bet of 3,900 and then check-raised all in after the {7-} turn for 27,800. Greenwood, who had fired a second barrel worth 8,000, snap-called with {A-Spades}{K-Spades} for the nut flush and Leledakis was drawing dead with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}.

"That Was Amazing"

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Artem Litvinov
Artem Litvinov

Mohsin Charania raised to 500 and John Sarailis called before Artem Litvinov three-bet to 1,650. Both opponents called and headed to the flop {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts} with Litvinov leading for 3,875. Charania raised to 9,000 and Sarailis folded, Litvinov moved all in and Charania snap-called.

Charania: {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Litvinov: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

The {7-Clubs} turn was a blank, but the {K-Spades} river gave the Russian a higher set to bust Charania. The American tournament pro left his chair with the words "that was amazing" and headed out of the door.

Riess Busts to Tuna

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

On the {5-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} flop, Akin Tuna check-called a bet of 700 by Ryan Riess and did so again on the {2-Hearts} turn for a slightly bigger amount. The {7-Diamonds} fell on the river and Tuna checked, Riess shoved for 10,800 and Tuna eventually called after some consideration.

Riess was caught with {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a bluff that turned into a pair of sevens on the river while Tuna had {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a pair of aces. Tuna also busted the one and only Phil Hellmuth in the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event last year as well and can write another prominent scalp on his poker resume.
