Rudnik Takes from Vogelsang; Baumgarten from Baumann

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Joining the action on the {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts} turn, Christoph Vogelsang check-raised from 9,000 to 28,000 out of the big blind and Michal Rudnik called. They then checked down the {A-Diamonds} river and Vogelsang's {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} ended up second-best to the {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} of Rudnik.

One table over, Gaelle Baumann fired three barrels on the board {J-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for 12,000, 20,000 and 36,000 respectively to see Joao Baumgarten call her down with {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} on the button. Baumann only had {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and dropped some, while Baumgarten moved above average.

Akenhead Stops The Margereson Train

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Former railroad conductor, 2009 WSOP Main Event and WSOP Europe Main Event finalist James Akenhead has finally put a stop to the runaway train that Scott Margereson had become.

Akenhead got it in with the {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} versus Margereson's {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} and won the flip, making a set on the {j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} board to stave off elimination and double through.

Margereson still has close to 500,000, but for the first time in a long time, he's trending downwards.

Reeves Doubles With Kings

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

After a raise to 8,000, small blind Bart Lybaert made the call. In the big blind, Lucas Reeves shoved all in for 120,000. The initial raiser folded, but Lybaert made the call.

Lucas Reeves: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Bart Lybaert: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Reeves doubled up.

McDonald Caught Bluffing

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Mike McDonald raised to 11,000 from the small blind and Pierre Calamusa defended his big blind to see a flop of {K-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}. The Frenchman called the continuation bet worth 11,000 before both players then checked the {J-Hearts} turn. On the {A-Hearts} river, McDonald check-raised all in and Calamusa more than happily called with {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} while McDonald only held the ole six-three.

Calamusa started the day as one of the short stacks but is suddenly back in contention.

Mateos Chips Up Ahead of Money Bubble

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Adrian Mateos

On a board of {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{3-Diamonds} Purice checked, and Mateos bet out 9,000. Purice called and the two players saw the {j-Clubs} on the turn. Again Purice check-called, this time a bet of 21,000 from the EPT Grand Final Champion.

The river was the {8-Spades} and Purice checked a third time, and Mateos fired a third time for 55,000. Eventually Purice made the call and Adrian Mateos showed {9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a rivered straight. That take him up among the chip leaders as the money bubble approaches

Small Pot for Kruk

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Christopher Kruk raised to 10,000 and Nikolaus Teichert called from one seat over. On the {9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop, Kruk continued for 12,000 and was called by the World Series of Poker bracelet winner from Germany. The {Q-Spades} came on the turn and Kruk's bet of 22,000 did the trick to enforce a fold.

Moorman Busts to Margereson

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Chris Moorman
Chris Moorman

The media cards of Jude Ainsworth, Ian Hunter and Chris Moorman were waiting to be picked up. The latter had found an ace in the big blind and shoved the {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs} into a raise of Scott Margereson and the fellow Brit snap-called with the {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}.

It was all over after the {J-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Spades} turn and the {8-Hearts} river was already meaningless.

Hadad Pushes into Purice

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

"Nice hand Sir," a rather annoyed Tudor Purice said after having bet the {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts} river for 43,000. His opponent Or Hadad moved all in and the Romanian released his cards quickly. Once chip leader, Purice now dropped back into the middle of the pack.

Double on the Bubble

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Action folded to Mazin Khoury in the cutoff and he pushed all in for his last 41,000. His neighbor on the button, Nikolay Tsanev, pushed all in over the top for 36,000 more. Both blinds released.

Mazin Khoury: {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
Nikolay Tsanev: {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The {9-Spades} in the window spelled doom for Khoury, but luckily for him the {2-Spades} and {Q-Hearts} followed. With the {K-Clubs} on the turn, Tsanev was now drawing dead and the {10-Hearts} on the river didn't change a thing anymore. Double up for Khoury, five of the money.

Timex Sniffs Out A Bluff

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Mike McDonald
Mike McDonald

With a pot of 50,000 chips already in the middle, Mike McDonald checked to Pierre Calamusa, heads-up on an {8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{k-Spades}{10-Clubs} board.

Calamusa bet 20,000, but could not shake McDonald. He made the call and the river brought the {4-Clubs}, another check from McDonald, and another bet from Calamusa, who made it 50,000.

McDonald mulled it over for a moment before making the call with the {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. Top pair was good with Calamusa only able to show {q-}{6-} for queen high.
