Rosen Calls Metaal Down

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Govert Metaal
Govert Metaal

After a raise to 22,000 and a call by Oren Rosen on the button, Govert Metaal three-bet from the small blind to 83,000 and Rosen called.

The flop brought out {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{2-Spades} and Metaal continued for 80,000 and Rosen tanked for a while before making the call.

On the turn the {9-Spades} hit and Metaal stared at Rosen's stack before sliding forward 160,000.

Rosen pondered his decision for a bit before asking the dealer for the exact bet amount.

"160,000?" Rosen said, before putting the chips together to make the call.

The board completed on the river with the {5-Diamonds}, and now the action was checked.

Metaal showed {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, and Rosen let out a big sigh as he tabled {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. The pot was pushed to Rosen, and he's now closing on a million-chip stack.

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Paolo Compagno let it ride with the {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Adrien Allain called with two overs in the {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

The board rolled out {2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{a-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Hearts} taking Compagno with it, and allowing Allain to push up over the one-million chip mark.

Ace-King and Ace-King Go Down Against Celestino's Sevens

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Tomas Jozonis just moved all in under the gun for 128,000 chips and Ariel Celestino called from the cutoff. Chris Dowling went into the tank for a while before making the call from the button. After both blinds folded the flop brought out {Q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades} and no chips were put into a potential side pot.

The turn was the {J-Spades} and again the action was checked.

On the river the board completed with the {3-Diamonds} and for the third time the action went check-check.

Jozonis announced - and showed - {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and Dowling showed the same hand with {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. Celestino then tabled {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} to claim the pot, and Jozonis was not pleased.

"Why didn't you shove?" Jozonis sighed, as he was knocked out and Dowling took a hit.

An Ace and a King for Andrejevic

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Andjelko Andrejevic pushed in over the top of a Matthew Davenport raise, and when it folded back to Davenport, he snap-called with the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

Andrejevic's {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} made it a classic race situation, and he took the lead on the {k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop, extended it on the {k-Spades} river, and held on after the {q-Diamonds} river to double through.

Mount Korenev

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Youssef Finianos picked a good time to push in with the {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, considering Roman Korenev had the {a-Spades}{10-Spades} and a mountain of chips to call with.

Koranev did make the call, falling below the one-million chip mark when the board ran out {2-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Finianos doubled through.

Etcheverry Caught Bluffing

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Juan Etcheverry bet 123,000 into a pot of 150,000 on a {q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades} board to the turn, heads up with Ariel Celestino.

Celestino called and Etcheverry shoved in on the {k-Clubs} river, putting Celestino at risk.

Celestino called off with the {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} having made two pair on the river. All Etcheverry could show was the {a-Spades}{4-Hearts} ace-high, and after doubling up Celestino, he now has less than 15 big blinds.

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

PokerStars Spin & Go Qualifier Erik van Hoek traveled from the Netherlands to find himself on Day 3 of the EPT Grand Final. Van Hoek just raised under the gun and Nikolas Menke moved all in from the big blind for 96,000, and Van Hoek called right away.

Van Hoek: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}
Menke: {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

The board ran out {5-Spades}{6-Spades}{J-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Spades} and Van Hoek's aces held up. The Dutchman is one of the six remaining Spin & Go qualifiers out of the 120 that won their way to Monte Carlo.

Weber Times Two

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Chris Dowling made it 22,000 and Ruediger Weber pushed in for a little over 150,000.

Antoine Saout woke up with a cold call on the button behind him, and after the blinds and Dowling folded, the hands were revealed.

Saout: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Weber: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Saout was well ahead, holding on the {5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop, before Weber hit the three outer on the {a-Clubs} turn. The {6-Clubs} river changed nothing and Weber doubled through.

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Antonio Rutigliano just moved all in for exactly 100,000 chips and the action folded to Brazilian WSOP bracelet winner Thiago Nishijima. Nishijima - seated in the big blind - thought for quite some time but ultimately he made the call.

Nishijima: {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Rutigliano: {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}

The board ran out {K-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{Q-Spades}{J-Clubs} and Rutigliano shook his head as he was headed for the payout desk.
