Ilyukhin Loses Flip to Nikolov

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Victor Ilyukhin opened the action with a raise to 11,000 and Martin Nikolov three-bet to 30,000 from one seat over. Ilkyukhin opted to shove for around 100,000 and Nikolov called.

Victor Ilkyukhin: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Martin Nikolov: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

The flop of {K-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Spades} left Ilyukhin with very little hope, as one of his outs was already pretty much gone. A blank {4-Diamonds} on the turn left just the {Q-Diamonds}, but the river was a blank with the {6-Hearts}.

Franczak Busts to Eggen

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Piotr Franczak
Piotr Franczak

Stale Eggen had just doubled up with pocket kings against pocket fours and then shoved the very next hand out of the small blind. Piotr Franczak called all in with less in the big blind.

Piotr Franczak: {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Stale Eggen: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

The board came {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and that sent Franczak to the rail.

Bojang Sends Szwed to the Rail

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Usman Siddique made it 11,000 to go from middle position before PokerStars Qualifier Oskar Szwed put his remaining chips over the betting line from the very next seat. Ismael Bojang on the button seemed very interested, and didn't spend many seconds before he himself announced all in. The blinds and Siddique wasted no time getting out of the way, and with the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} of Szwed and the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} of Bojang it was a classic coinflip.

The flop of {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} was no help to the player at risk, and neither the {5-Hearts} on the turn or the {2-Hearts} on the river changed that.

Szwed began his journey to the cashier, while Ismael Bojang is sitting on around 440,000.

Maria Ho
Maria Ho

Maria Ho is the next casualty after losing a flip with her short stack.

Ho three-bet shoved her last 18,000 with the {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and initial raiser Yung Hwang called with the {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}. The board came {A-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{J-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Ho headed to the payout desk.

Seat Open

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

After the long bubble phase, there are a lot of short stacks in the field. One of those stacks belonged to Jacek Pustula, who got it in for 25,000 holding {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. Usman Siddique looked him up with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and flushed out Pustula on a {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} board.

Felipe Costa and Peter Akery are also at the rail.

Philipps Bubbles EPT Malta Main Event

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Benjamin Philipps bubbles EPT 13 Malta 2016 €5,300 Main Event
Benjamin Philipps bubbles EPT 13 Malta 2016 €5,300 Main Event

After his earlier double up, Benjamin Philipps was blinded down to just 5,500 in chips.

He then had to post the big blind and was left with only a single 500-chip behind. From first position, Tomas Macnamara, who doubled him in the previous hand, raised to 10,000. It was folded to Philipps and he started waiting for all the other tables to finish their hand.

There were no other all-in-situations, so Philipps was at risk of becoming the bubble boy when he threw in his final chip. The camera crews rushed to the table and he showed his {Q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}.

Macnamara was ahead with the {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}.

The board ran out an uneventful {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{J-Spades}.

In the end, it didn't really matter and Philipps was on his way out empty handed while all the others in the room secured a pay-day of at least €8,070.

Valle Takes from Diaz

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Joining the action on the {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{J-Spades} turn with plenty of chips in the middle, Guillaume Valle checked in the small blind and fellow Frenchman Guillaume Diaz bet 48,000 on the cutoff. Valle called and checked again the {4-Spades} river.

Diaz checked behind and then mucked when Valle showed the {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}.
