Mateos Doubles on the Bubble

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

In the third hand on the bubble, Isaac Haxton raised to 48,000 on the hijack after having just scooped a pot against Julian Stuer. Adrian Mateos moved all in for 168,000 and the action folded back to Haxton, who called.

Adrian Mateos: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Isaac Haxton: {Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Mateos doubled.

Thomas Muehloecker Eliminated

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Thomas Muehloecker
Thomas Muehloecker

Julian Stuer opened for 50,000. Two positions down, in the cutoff, Thomas Muehloecker shoved for 136,000. Action folded quickly back around to Stuer who called.

Julian Stuer: {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Thomas Muehloecker: {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds} on the flop and {6-Clubs} on the turn were still good for Muehloecker, but the {10-Diamonds} on the river wasn't. Muehloecker exited in 13th place, two from the money.

The two tables were balanced so both were playing 6-handed. Hand for hand play is now active.

The Tension Gets Higher

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Several of the short stacks pushed but neither of them received a call. Over on table one, Julian Stuer open-shoved several times into the short stacks behind him and got through with it every time while barely any hand made it to the flop, turn let alone river.

Then, Steve O'Dwyer opened to 50,000 and Ramin Hajiyev called on the button. On the {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop, O'Dwyer checked and called a bet of 68,000 by Hajiyev before checking the {5-Clubs} turn. Hajiyev now fired a bet worth 140,000 and that forced a fold.

Carrel Takes it on the River

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The action has slowed down and Charlie Carrel shoved once, then just took a small pot off Koray Aldemir. Carrel raised to 45,000 and Aldemir defended the big blind to see a flop of {A-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Aldemir checked, Carrel bet 25,000 and the German called.

Aldemir checked again the {7-Clubs} turn and Carrel checked back before the {7-Diamonds} river paired the board. Aldemir checked, Carrel bet 70,000 and that won the pot without showdown as Aldemir folded.

Action is being Monitored

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

The money spots are two eliminations away and both tables are playing quite fast without anyone stalling. Still, the tournament staff is monitoring the action to ensure that the same pace is being kept.

Adrian Mateos dropped to around 11 big blinds. He min-raised once and folded to a shove of Pablo Fernandez, then had to give up the blinds. Igor Yaroshevskyy shoved twice to claim the blinds and antes and has almost the same short stack.

Carrel Doubles O'Dwyer

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Steve O'Dwyer opened under the gun plus one for 40,000 and got a call from Koray Aldemir in the cutoff. Action folded to Charlie Carrel in the big blind and he squeezed to 191,000. O'Dwyer thought about it for a bit before announcing all in for 596,000. Aldemir folded, Carrel called instantly.

Charlie Carrel: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Steve O'Dwyer: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}

O'Dwyer hit a set of eights on the {6-Spades}{8-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}-flop. The {J-Spades} on the turn wasn't the card he was looking for. The {5-Spades} that completed the board, however, did him no harm and he was about to get his stack back times two.

Haxton Doubles Muehloecker

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

From early position, Isaac Haxton raised to 32,000. Big blind Thomas Muehloecker shoved for 172,000 and Haxton, after some counting and thinking about it, called.

Isaac Haxton: {2-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Thomas Muehloecker: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}

The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Haxton was already counting out the chips to hand over after the flop had hit.

Stuer Wins with Ace High

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Isaac Haxton raised to 32,000 from the cutoff and Julian Stuer called in the small blind to go heads up to the flop of {7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Stuer checked, Haxton continued for 31,000 and Stuer called. On the {4-Hearts} turn, Stuer check-called another barrel worth 75,000 before the duo then checked the {8-Diamonds} on the river.

Stuer flipped over {A-Spades}{K-Spades} and Haxton mucked. With several High Roller cashes to his name, Stuer is looking forward to improving his best score to date. Back in August this year, he finished 8th in the EPT13 Barcelona €50,000 Super High Roller for €181,200.
