Andras Nemeth Hits the Rail

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Juan Pardo opened the hijack for 10,000 and small blind Andras Nemeth shoved for 60,000 even. The big blind folded, Pardo called.

Juan Pardo: {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Andras Nemeth: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

The {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop was still good for Nemeth, but the {9-Clubs} on the turn reduced his chance of a double up considerably. The {5-Clubs} river was a blank and Nemeth was eliminated.

Toma Doubles Through Pollak

Level 8 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Charlie Carrel opened the action with a raise from the cutoff and Benjamin Pollak three-bet to 25,000 from the button. Tsugunari Toma then moved all in from the big blind for 62,000 which got a quick fold from Carrel.

Pollak didn't seem happy on making the call but put the extra 35,000 into the middle.

Tsugunari Toma: {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Benjamin Pollak: {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Board: {k-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{8-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Toma kept his lead on the flop with his pocket pair, and the turn didn't change the situation either. Pollak called for a king on the river, but the final card was the four of hearts to gift Toma a full house and a double up.

Soyza Bets All Streets

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Christopher Soyza opened under the gun for 8,000 and big blind Jean-Noel Thorel called. Thorel check-called 7,000 on the {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}{Q-Hearts} flop, 20,000 on the {2-Spades} turn, and 30,000 on the {Q-Diamonds} river. Soyza showed {A-Spades}{K-Spades} and Thorel mucked.

"It Was Fun!"

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Gergely Kulcsar got his chips in before the flop holding {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} against Pavel Plesuv's {k-Hearts}{J-Spades}. All went well till the river on the board of {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. "It was fun!" he said as he left the table.

Greenwood Spikes an Ace to Double

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

Andras Nemeth raised to 9,000 from under the gun and saw Liang Xu three-bet to 27,000 from the button. When the action got around to Sam Greenwood in the big blind, he four-bet all in for 145,000.

Nemeth asked Xu how much he was playing and saw that Xu had him covered.

But Nemeth moved all in for 260,000, and Xu reluctantly folded after 20 seconds of thought.

Sam Greenwood: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Andras Nemeth: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The flop fell nicely for Nemeth with {9-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} appearing. But the {a-Clubs} turn card was brutal for the Hungarian as Greenwood hit top pair and sealed his doubled up after the river fell the {10-Spades}.

Greenwood moved up 300,000, and Nemeth was left with 120,000.

Schemion Eliminated by Vieira

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

A cry of 'all-in and call' was heard from across the tournament room and it was Ole Schemion who was at risk.

In front of the German was {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} with the board down {4-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. But his opponent, Joao Vieira, held {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for a set.

The river card fell the {6-Spades}, and Vieira improved to a full house to send Schemion to the rail.

Thomas Boivin Eliminated

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Thomas Boivin, who won the first €25,000 Single-Day High Roller this festival, has just been eliminated. We were just too late to get the hand, but Joao Vieira filled us in on the details afterward.

According to Vieira, Boivin was down to 22,500 when he shoved from the small blind with {8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Big blind Pavel Plesuv wasn't exactly the owner of a massive stack himself, but with {K-Spades}{5-Hearts} he couldn't pass on the call. The board ran out bad for Boivin who exited the tournament.

Binar Eliminated by Xu

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Pavel Binar
Pavel Binar

Pavel Binar moved all in for 40,000 from the hijack, and when the action folded to Liang Xu, he went into the tank.

His 30 seconds time bank was running down, and with a second to go, he made the call.

Pa vel Binar: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Liang Xu: {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

"Uh oh!" exclaimed Xu, which got a resounding laugh from the rest of the table.

Binar kept his lead after the flop fell {6-Spades}{j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} but the turn hit the {a-Clubs}.

" Ah yaa!" said Xu as the ace hit to give him the lead.

And when the river card was revealed to be the {5-Hearts}, Binar's elimination was confirmed, and Xu moved up to 310,00.

Level 7 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Norbert Szecsi
Norbert Szecsi

Norbert Szecsi was able to get his 65,000 stack into the middle preflop and saw Andras Nemeth call.

Norbert Szecsi: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Andras Nemeth: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Board: {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

Nemeth was behind and unable to catch up as the five cards fell, meaning Szecsi secured a full double up through the big stack of Nemeth.m
