Ali Al Saidy

Ali Al Saidy moved all in for 7,250,000. Ondrej Lon folded and Boris Mondrus called in the big blind.

Ali Al Saidy: {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}
Boris Mondrus: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}

Al Saidy threw his cards down onto the table and stood up. The board ran out giving no help to his cause, coming {9-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs} and Al Saidy was eliminated in third place.

He takes home €138,400. The final two players will be taking a short ten-minute break before they resume heads-up play.

Short Stacks in Race to the Bottom

Level 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

In a limped pot Ondrej Lon check-called 800,000 from Boris Mondrus on a {6-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} board. The turn was the {j-Hearts} and Lon check-folded to 2,300,000 from Mondrus.

On the next hand, and in another limped pot, both Mondrus and Ali Al Saidy checked a {9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} board down and Mondrus showed {5-}{x-} to take down the pot.

Boris Mondrus

Boris Mondrus opened to 1,100,000 and Ali Al Saidy three-bet to 2,600,000. Mondrus asked how much his Norwegian opponent was playing before calling.

Al Saidy bet 1,500,000 on the {10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop and Mondrus called. The turn was the {2-Hearts}. Al Saidy checked and Mondrus moved all in.

Al Saidy quickly folded, and Mondrus took down the pot.

Lon Doubles Through Mondrus

Level 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Ondrej Lon
Ondrej Lon

Ondrej Lon defended his big blind to a Boris Mondrus open and checked the {j-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop to his opponent.

After giving it considerable thought, Lon called with {j-Spades}{6-Spades} for a pair of jacks, and Mondrus showed {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a two-way straight draw.

The turn {10-Hearts} gave Mondrus a pair as well, but the river {j-Hearts} improved Lon to trip jacks and he doubled up through the chip leader.

He remains the short stack at the table.

Al Saidy bet 3,000,000 on the {2-Hearts} river and after giving it some thought, Lon folded.

Mondrus Chipping Up

Level 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Danilo Velasevic Eliminated in 4th Place (€106,600)

Level 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Danilo Velasevic
Danilo Velasevic

Danilo Velasevic moved all in for 8,950,000 from under the gun. Boris Mondrus was in the next position and asked for a count before moving all in himself. The other two players folded.

Danilo Velasevic: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Boris Mondrus: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

The flop came {8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts} and the turn {a-Hearts} gave Mondrus a set. Velasevic thumped the table, and as if to rub salt into the start-of-day chip leader's wounds, the {7-Hearts} came on the river.

Velasevic takes home €106,600 for his fourth place finish.

Chip Counts at the Break

Level 35 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

The remaining four players are going on a 20-minute break, their first of the day.

Lon Secures Vital Double in Crazy Hand

Level 35 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Ondrej Lon
Ondrej Lon

Ondrej Lon moved all in from under the gun for 6,650,000 and Danilo Velasevic called in the next position. The other two players both folded.

Ondrej Lon: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Danilo Velasevic: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Lon was ahead, but the {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop gave his opponent a set. The turn, however, was a {j-Hearts} putting Lon back into the lead!

There was the potential for even more drama should a nine or a heart roll off on the river, but the {6-Clubs} improved both players - and more importantly Lon - to a full house.
