Margereson Chips Up

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Scott Margereson sat in the hijack and he had checked to his neighbor in the cutoff. The board read {K-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades} and the pot had roughly 18,000 in it.

The player in the cutoff thought about it for a moment before checking behind. Margereson showed {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and that was enough to take the pot down.

Margereson is now back over the starting stack of 30,000.

Meijer van Putten With a Double Barrel

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Jasper Meijer van Putten
Jasper Meijer van Putten

It folded around to Jasper Meijer van Putten on the button and he raised to 600. Small blind Valentin Cristea called and the big blind folded.

The flop fell {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and Cristea check-called another bet of 600 from Meijer van Putten to see the {6-Diamonds} turn. The Dutch 2016 EPT Prague Main Event champion put in a bet of 1,400 after Cristea checked to him and they saw the {7-Hearts} come off the deck.

Both players checked this time and Cristea showed down {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} which was enough to make Meijer van Putten muck his hand.

Dedusha Caught With Napkins

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Artan Dedusha bet 800 against two opponents on a {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop. A player on the button called him, while a third player released. Both remaining players checked the {3-Hearts}, bringing the {j-Diamonds}. Dedusha bet 1,600 and his opponent thought briefly and called.

Dedusha showed {q-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for an airball and his opponent took the pot with {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

Jason Wheeler and Gabriele Lepore, both of whom made the final table of this event last year under the PokerStars Championship banner, are seated right next to each. Wheeler finished second and Lepore fourth. We'll see if either can make a repeat final table run.

Rollercoaster Double for Yazbek

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Marcello Miniucchi had raised from the under-the-gun position and small blind Emile Yazbek was very short with just 1,900 in front of him. He moved all in and Miniucchi called.

Emile Yazbek: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Marcello Miniucchi: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

The flop was {J-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Yazbek was still in the lead, but he threw his arms in the air when the {8-Diamonds} turn fell. He threw his hands in the air once more when the {10-Diamonds} river came down to give Yazbek a straight.

He stacked his chips and has still only 4,200 but in the current level that is 21 big blinds.

Yachou Hits the River

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Farid Yachou bet 3,000 into a pot of around 4,000 when a small blind opponent checked to him on {q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{k-Spades}. The small blind called and Yachou tabled {a-Spades}{5-Spades} for a backdoor straight.

The former WPT Tournament of Champions winner is off to a strong start with just under two starting stacks.
