Simunic Busts Baumann

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Gaelle Baumann
Gaelle Baumann

Gaelle Baumann and Josip Simunic got involved into a three-way pot to the {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop, on which Baumann check-raised all in and was called by Simunic only.

Baumann tabled {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for top pair and top kicker while Simunic had the {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for middle set. The {Q-Diamonds} turn left Baumann drawing dead and Simunic even improved to quads with the {9-Clubs} on the river to further add to the misery.

Fellow Frenchman Romain Lewis also joined the rail after losing a flip when limp-shoving pocket nines into ace-queen.

Petruzzeli Doubles Through Melogno; Gives it to Danchev

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Dimitar Danchev
Dimitar Danchev

A big pot was brewing between Pablo Melogno and Federico Petruzzelli, culminating in a board of {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. According to Nick Petrangelo, Melogno had four-bet to 75,000 preflop and bet the flop for 44,000, which Petruzzelli called. Both checked the turn and Melogno bet the river for 66,000. Petruzzelli moved all in for 223,000 and Melogno called to get shown {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} for the back door nut flush.

Melogno shook his head in disgust while tabling {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a straight and lost a massive chunk of his stack.

The action on the table didn't stop there yet, though, as Petruzzelli was involved in another three-bet pot right after and faced Dimitar Danchev. The latter bet the {A-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop and was called, the {4-Diamonds} turn was checked. On the {10-Clubs} river they got it in with Danchev as the player at risk for 410,000 and Petruzzelli looked him up with {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} only to get shown {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} for the higher flush.

"Wow, nice hand," Petruzzelli sighed and had to forfeit the chips he had just acquired.

Classic Race Seals Glick's Fate

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Michael Glick
Michael Glick

Michael Glick opened the action to 14,000, Javier Fernandez Alonso three-bet to 51,000 on the button, Glick four-bet to 128,000, Fernandez shoved all in and Glick went deep in the tank.

The American played 640,000 total and Fernandez was the only player at the table that had him covered. A total of three timebank cards were used up by Glick before he called it off.

Javier Fernandez Alonso: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Michael Glick: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The race was as classic as they'd come and would make the winner a chip millionaire. The board ran out {2-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and with the ace on the flop, Fernandez made an end to Glick's tournament life in one hand. The Spaniard chipped up to 1,400,000 to make him one of the top dogs in the room.

Makoto Haga
Makoto Haga

Makoto Haga raised and then saw the shove of Yorane Kerignard from one seat over and the isolation shove of Gary Hasson behind. The Japanese, who had survived the money bubble earlier today with just three big blinds, snap-called and had the best of it going into the showdown.

Makoto Haga: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}
Yorane Kerignard: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Gary Hasson: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

The board of {J-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{6-Hearts} ended Haga's run in 61st place, while Kerignard essentially tripled up.

Mateos Pains Kempe

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

On an {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop, Adrian Mateos bet 29,000 from the small blind and Rainer Kempe called in middle position. Both players checked the {6-Spades} on the turn.

The river was the {5-Clubs} and without much hesitation, Mateos shoved all in for 103,000. Kempe rearranged his glasses and try to figure out the situation.

After using two timebank extensions, Kempe elected to fold and preserve his remaining stack of 123,000.

Blanchard Busts to Melogno

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

The completed board showed {A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{8-Spades} and Pablo Melogno had checked out of the big blind. Anthony Blanchard moved all in for 137,000 and Melogno used one time bank extension before making the call. Blanchard shrugged his head and flashed his {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} for a failed bluff, then sighed "wow ace three against three barrels" when he spotted the hand he had been called by, it was the {A-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for top pair only.
