Muehloecker Sends Tang to the Rail

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

First to act, Thomas Muehloecker opened the action with a raise to 2,300 and Danny Tang three-bet to 8,000 from two seats over, Muehloecker called. On the {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop, Muehloecker checked and subsequently check-raised from 6,500 to 18,000, Tang called.

After the {J-Hearts} on the turn, Muehloecker check-called a bet of 13,500 and the {9-Diamonds} river completed the board. Muehloecker checked once more and Tang jammed for around 25,000, which resulted in a call by the Austrian. Tang briefly flashed his cards to reveal {A-Diamonds}{K-} and Muehloecker claimed the pot with {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Assorted Big Stacks Before Dinner

Ferreira Runs Out of Chips

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Jean Ferreira defended his big blind against the raise of Kai Lehto from under the gun and got the remainder of his stack in after a flop of {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Lehto snap-called for a reason to create the following showdown.

Jean Ferreira: {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Kai Lehto: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}

Ferreira needed running sixes to avoid the elimination on the first bullet and it was all over after the {8-Diamonds} turn to make the {3-Diamonds} river, which improved Lehto to the nut flush, a mere formality.

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel had moved all in for 32,000 on a {7-Spades}{a-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop and was called by Adrian Mateos.

Jean-Noel Thorel: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Adrian Mateos: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{8-Spades} and Thorel was eliminated.

Mateos Doubles Through Derwiche; Soyza Through Romero; Double Knockout for Vieira

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

Adrian Mateos on the button and Imad Derwiche in the big blind clashed when the latter bet the {10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop for 10,000 and the former called. On the {6-Diamonds} turn, Derwiche checked and called a bet of 5,000 before checking again the {A-Clubs} on the river. Mateos moved all in and Derwiche reluctantly called to get shown {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for bottom set by Mateos. Derwiche only had {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and was left with one 100 chip before scooping the next two hands.

Michael Soyza raised on the button, James Romero three-bet to 7,000 in the small blind and Soyza four-bet all in for 41,000 to see Romero call.

Michael Soyza: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
James Romero: {A-Spades}{3-Spades}

The {Q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} board provided no help for Romero and he took a hit to his big stack.

Last but not least, Scott Margereson got his last 2,000 in with {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and was caught in the crossfire between Joao Vieira with {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and Dmitrii Vasilev with pocket queens. Vieira was the bigger stack and got there on the river of the board {8-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}.

Soyza folded and Romero quickly called.

James Romero: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Shannon Shorr: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{q-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Shorr fist-bumped his opponent and was eliminated.

Sammartino's Hero Call Rewarded

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

With more than 40,000 already in the middle and the completed board showing {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{Q-Spades}. Scott Margereson moved all in for around 56,000 out of the big blind and Dario Sammartino asked for a count. Sammartino himself was covered by a few big blinds and used two time bank extensions before announcing the call.

Margereson showed {7-Spades}{5-Hearts} for a pair of sevens and busted gutshot, and Sammartino held {J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a pair of jacks to double for 50,700.

Updated Chip Counts

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Foxen and Plesuv Eliminated

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

Alex Foxen made it 1,900 to go from the cutoff and Ali Reza Fatehi on the button called, as did Liv Boeree in the small blind. Goran Mandic in the big blind three-bet to 8,800 and Foxen gave it some thought before moving all in for around 32,000. Fatehi and Boeree quickly folded, and Mandic called instantly.

Alex Foxen: {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Goran Mandic: {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

The board came {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and Foxen was eliminated on his first entry.

At almost the same time one table over, Pavel Plesuv was all in and at risk preflop with the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and Dmitrii Vasilev looked him up with {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. The board of {10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Plesuv run out of chips on his first attempt as well.
