Thorel Gets Shorter; Tsang Chips Up

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Laszlo Bujtas doubled his short stack and Murad Akhundov won a small pot against Samuli Sipila with quad jacks, then Jean-Noel Thorel lost a bigger pot to Alexander Petersen.

Petersen bet the {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} turn for 46,000 and Thorel called. After the {4-Hearts} river, Petersen bet 60,000 and Thorel folded.

Last but not least, Anson Tsang chipped up through Niko Soininen. Tsang raised to 9,000 first to act and was called by Soininen in the cutoff and Cord Garcia on the button. The {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop was checked to Soininen, who bet 11,000. Garcia folded and Tsang called. Both checked the {7-Spades} turn and Tsang check-called a bet of 15,000 on the river.

Soininen showed the {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{X-} and Tsang won the pot with {A-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}.

Keijzer Eliminated by Petersen

Ronald Keijzer
Ronald Keijzer

Alexander Petersen and Ronald Keijzer invested 22,500 each to see a flop of {K-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Petersen checked. Keijzer bet the pot for 49,000 and Petersen gave it some thought, then raised and Keijzer called all in for 72,000.

Ronald Keijzer: {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Alexander Petersen: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{J-Spades}{8-Spades}

"Oh, I am in great shape then," Petersen said when he saw the cards of his opponent. The {J-Clubs} turn was bad news for Keijzer, who now needed a queen and a queen only to avoid the elimination. Instead, it was the blank {9-Clubs} on the river that sent Keijzer to the rail.

Dowling Takes it on the Flop; Magott Eliminated

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
Krzysztof Magott
Krzysztof Magott

The action after the redraw has been rather slow and barely any hands brought betting action on all streets.

Over on table one, the three-way flop showed {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Chris Dowling checked in the big blind. Ronald Keijzer did so from early position and Bogdan Capitan bet 13,000 on the button. Dowling check-raised to 60,000 and that won the pot right there, both opponents folded.

Just as that hand was finished, Krzysztof Magott departed from table two and that reduced the field to the last 23. Magott turned two pair and an open-ended straight draw with {J-}{9-}{8-}{4-} against the top set of tens of Samuli Sipila and bricked the river.
