Grecu Falls to Pankov

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Virgil Grecu's return after the break was cut short by Vitalii Pankov. It was the latter who opened to 6,000 on the button and called off a 29,500 shove from Grecu from the small blind.

Virgil Grecu: {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Vitalii Pankov: {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

Pankov caught the queen he needed on the turn to send Grecu to the rail in the latter part of the day: {2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{3-Spades}.

Elmer Soars After Big Call

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

With the pot already up to 80,000, Jonatan Elmer was facing a bet of 50,000 from an unknown opponent on a {Q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} board. After thinking it over for 30 seconds, he flicked in a calling chip with {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

Reluctantly, his opponent rolled over {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for the airball and had to part with the vast majority of his stack.

Kaneoya and Berende Eliminated

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

In a blind battle, Brazil's rising star Renato Kaneoya found his demise at the hands of Simeon Naydenov. On an {A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop, Kaneoya's stack of 80,000 went in after a series of raises and Naydenov had him barely covered with 85,000 in chips.

Renato Kaneoya: {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Simeon Naydenov: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}

Kaneoya had straight- and flush draws but completed neither on the {2-Diamonds} turn nor {K-Spades} river.

At the same time, Paul Berende tweeted that he lost an all in with {A-}{10-} against {Q-}{J-} on a {10-}{9-}{2-} flop. The river was the {8-} and Berende will be back on Day 1c for a second chance.

Weissman Recovers

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Joey Weissman opened the action with a raise from under the gun and saw one player from middle position call before the player in the big blind also came along. After the flop fell {2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} the big blind led with a 8,500 bet that only Weissman called.

The turn card was the {6-Diamonds} and Weissman again called a bet from the player in the big blind, this time for 16,000. The river was revealed to be the {10-Diamonds} and the action was checked to Weissman, He thought for a minute before he counted his chips and bet 35,000, which got his opponent to fold very quickly.

Weissman is back up to 150,000 despite having seen his stack take a hit in the last level.
