Alfonsin Busts Lau

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Martin Alfonsin min-raised to 24,000 in early position and it was called by the cutoff player before Ka Kwan Lau moved his last 160,000 in the middle in the big blind. Only Alfonsin made the call and the players tabled their cards.

Ka Kwan Lau: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Martin Alfonsin: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Alfonsin had the dominating hand to start with and remained ahead on the {4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop, The {10-Hearts} on the turn, however, brought Lau a substantial lead and left Alfonsion drawing to the remaining jacks.

The best hand preflop did get there on the river, as the {j-Spades} landed to swing Alfonsin right back in the lead and end Lau's shot at 1.6 million.

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

On a board {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{a-Spades}{5-Hearts} with a pot containing more than 100,000, Jason Lavallee checked in the big blind before calling a bet of 35,000 from Emrah Cakmak in the cutoff.

The river fell a {9-Hearts} and both players checked. Lavallee tabled {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and it was enough to make the French player muck his hand.

Kovalski Chip Leader at Dinner

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

On a {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} board Evgenii Sboev bet 200,000 and was called by Michael Tureniec and Fabiano Kovalski.

Sboev showed {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} for a flopped full house, Tureniec mucked, but Kovalski showed {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for a bigger boat.

"You're not calling my shove," he said, perhaps fearing pocket aces.
