Iaculli and Patacconi Rising

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Gianfranco Iaculli
Gianfranco Iaculli

The clock was called on Sebastian Percy-Smith, but before the floorman arrived he had already called a large bet by Gianfranco Iaculli on the river of a board {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Iaculli tabled {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for a straight and Percy-Smith was eft with his head shaking.

One hand later, short stack Mykola Yarmola jammed and Leonardo Patacconi called.

Mykola Yarmola: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Leonardo Patacconi: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

On a board of {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs}{4-Spades}, the tens were good enough to send Yarmola to the rail.

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Benjamin Pollak opened under the gun to 5,500 and only Silviu Baltateanu called in the big blind position.

The flop came {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and brought no betting action. On the {3-Spades} turn, Baltateanu led out for 6,500 and Pollak chose to call.

The {2-Clubs} completed the board and this time Baltateanu bet 20,500. Pollak considered it for a minute and mucked his cards.

Chabra Takes From Margolin

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Ajay Chabra check-called a bet of 16,000 by Timur Margolin on the {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds} turn and the {10-Spades} on the river was checked. Chabra tabled {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for top two pair and Margolin tapped the table in defeat.

Margolin topped the leaderboard on Day 1b and remains among the bigger stacks, but the new chip leader can be found on the same table as Louis Nyberg climbed to more than half a million in chips already.

Quads for Iftimia

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

It folded to Marius Iftimia in the small blind who completed before the big blind player raised to 9,000. Iftimia three-bet to 28,500 and the big blind announced all in. Iftimia snap-called all in with a stack worth 112,000 and the cards were turned over:

Marius Iftimia: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
His opponent: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Iftimia was in very good shape for a double up, which he did after the dealer brought the board {q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, improving his hand into quads.
