Zhechev Leaves Jacobson Short

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

Martin Jacobson opened the action with a raise to 1,200 and Ivan Zhechev three-bet to 4,000 from one seat over, which Jacobson called. On a {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop, Jacobson checked and called a bet of 3,000 before the {10-Hearts} turn was checked through.

Jacobson then bet the {5-Hearts} river for 5,000 and Zhechev eventually raised to 25,000, which sent Jacobson deep into the think tank. The clock was called on him and with a few seconds remaining, Jacobson tossed in the chips for the call.

Zhechev tabled the {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Jacobson exposed his {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, thinking he was covered. The raise was only to 25,000 though, which left the Swede with very few chips behind.

While the stack of Zhechev is already impressive, he is trailing Etai Gross on the same table.

Some Value for Kooij

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Teunis Kooij was among the late casualties on Day 1a and takes another shot on Day 1c, in which he was just able to build a small profit.

In a four-way pot to the {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} turn, [Removed:328] in the small blind bet 2,000 and Kooij in the big blind was the only caller. After the {4-Spades} river, [Removed:329] checked and Kooij made it 6,500 to go.

That sent [Removed:329] into the think tank and the clock was called on him. Before a tournament director could arrive, the Lithuanian called and mucked when Kooij tabled {a-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for a straight.

Peter Jaksland three-bet an open raise by Daniele Lunario and a call by Anders Wittorff and both opponents called. The {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop was checked to Jaksland and his bet resulted in a check-raise to 10,000 by Lunario, who had some 7,000 behind. Wittorff moved all in and Jaksland folded, Lunario called it off.

Daniele Lunario: {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Anders Wittorff: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

The {5-Hearts} turn and {2-Hearts} river run out provided no help and Lunario headed to the rail.
