Sonmez Out Before the Money

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Erkan Sonmez ended up all in with {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} and Chakib Bennani took the flip with the mighty ducks, revealing the {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}.

On a board of {j-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, Sonmez missed out on the two overcards and a gutshot to bust.

The field has been shrinking rapidly since the players returned from the last break, as just 324 hopefuls remain in contention.

Ruzicka Takes From Pyzara

Level 16 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Vojtech Ruzicka raised to 11,000 from middle position and Kacper Pyzara three-bet to 30,000 from the hijack. Action folded back to Ruzicka who stuck around with a call.

The dealer fanned a flop of {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} that was checked through to the {j-Hearts} turn. Ruzicka checked once more and Pyzara bet 60,000. Ruzicka check-called. The {10-Hearts} filled up the river and Ruzicka checked for a third time. Pyzara fired a bet of 100,000 and Ruzicka went deep into the tank then made the call. Pyzara tabled {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for a straight but that wasn't good enough as Ruzicka revealed {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} to win the pot with a backdoor flush.

Georgian Chirieac: {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Alexandre Mantovani: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop and {9-Diamonds} turn brought no surprise yet, however, the {a-Hearts} fell on the river and Chireac was eliminated.

Double for Dumont

Level 16 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Nicolas Dumont has just doubled to an above-average stack and is aiming for another cash on the EPT festivals after his victory at EPT Monte-Carlo in 2018.

Dumont defended his big blind against a raise from under the gun and check-called bets of 10,000 on the {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop and 22,000 on the {2-Diamonds} turn. The Frenchman ended up at risk for 78,000 on the {4-Spades} river. While his opponent had flopped best with king-queen, Dumont tabled the winner with {10-Spades}{7-Spades} and scored a vital double.

Romain Matteoli: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Luca Pazzaglini: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}
