Alawadhi Keeps Hanging Around

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Raed Alawadhi
Raed Alawadhi

Raed Alawadhi entered the dinner break with a mere 170,000 — two big blinds — but is beginning to craft an improbable comeback story for himself. After doubling twice earlier, Alawadhi now three-bet shoved all in for 640,000 after a raise from Sorin Flutur. The latter called it quickly off.

Raed Alawadhi: {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Sorin Flutur: {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{7-Spades} and Alawadhi tripled for the third time in quick succession.

Flutur Takes From Alencar

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Alen Alencar opened to 160,000 from the button and Sorin Flutur three-bet to 600,000 from the small blind. Alencar stuck around with a call.

The flop fell {k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Flutur bet 430,000. Alencar called. The turn brought the {3-Diamonds} and was checked through to the {2-Diamonds} river. Both players opted to check again. Flutur tabled {k-Spades}{8-Clubs} for kings and threes and Alencar sent his hand to the muck.

Ivarsson With Aggression

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Alexander Ivarsson raised to 160,000 on the button and Bart Lybaert defended. The flop was {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Lybaert check-called 175,000 from Ivarsson.

On the {3-Clubs} turn, Lybaert came out with a bet of 260,000. Ivarsson raised to 725,000 and Lybaert folded.

Alencar Doubles Through Alawadhi Before the Break

Anthony Zinno raised to 150,000 from under the gun and he was called by Raed Alawadhi from the hijack. Button Alen Alencar three-bet to 600,000 and he was only called by Alawadhi after Zinno folded.

The flop was dealt {j-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Alawadhi bet all in for 1,425,000 effectively covering Alencar. Alencar thought for a while before he called with {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. The call turned out to be good against the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} of Alawadhi.

The {4-Clubs} turn and {5-Hearts} river didn't change anything to the board and the Brazilian celebrated winning the pot and doubling up right before the dinner break started.

Engel and Pajak Chop the Biggest Pot Yet

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Tomasz Pajak
Tomasz Pajak

In a single-raised pot, Max Deveson and Tomasz Pajak checked their blinds on a {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop. Ari Engel bet 155,000 on the button and Deveson called.

Pajak put in a massive check-shove for around 2,200,000 total and Engel went in the tank for nearly five minutes. Eventually, he called it off for slightly less and Deveson got out of the way.

Ari Engel: {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Tomasz Pajak: {k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

Pajak was miles ahead and poised to take the chip lead but the {j-Clubs} turn counterfeited his two pair. The river was the {7-Spades} and the pair chopped it up.

Munoz Gets Paid by Monbrun-Massot

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Alin Mitrache opened to 125,000 from the hijack and Ramon Miquel Munoz called from the cutoff along with Cyril Monbrun-Massot from the small blind.

Players saw a flop of {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} that was checked through to the {10-Clubs} turn. Monbrun-Massot bet 175,000 and Mitrache folded but Munoz called. The {5-Hearts} completed the board and Monbrun-Massot checked. Munoz fired 680,000 and Massot thought for a long while, then made the call. Munoz tabled {j-Spades}{10-Spades} for tens full of jacks and Monbrun-Massot tossed his cards in the muck.
