Day 1b of the €330 EPT Cup is in the books after another day at the 2019 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino European Poker Tour (EPT) held in beautiful Monte Carlo next to the Mediterranean sea. Vasyl Zabrodskyy ended the day with the overall chip lead after an action-packed day. Zabrodskyy bagged 1,390,000 after 22 levels. He is closely followed by Giuseppe Caridi with 1,120,000. Both have overtaken Day 1a chip leader Alexandre Moreau.

They day started with almost 200 players in the tournament and the total number of entries ended up at 272. Day 1a attracted 265 players which means the total field is 537 entries big. Only 27 of those have made it through to Day 2. Thirteen players managed to find a bag on Day 1a and fourteen were added after Day 1b.

Plenty of familiar faces showed up but most of them busted out before the money. Natalie Teh, Mark Wiegerinck, Aylar Lie, and Sergei Popov all busted out before the money was reached at 39 players left. Lie and Teh both played Day 1a and 1b and they didn’t manage to cash in either one of those flights.

Pete Chen was the first player eliminated from the tournament in the money. The Taiwanese poker pro busted out in 39th place and he got to collect €550 from the payout desk. Another familiar face that busted in the money was Russia’s Valeriy Chupin. Chupin busted in 27th place and he cashed for €700.

Two Croatians managed to cash in the tournament and both happen to have the same last name. Marko Ivkic and Josip Ivkic both played the tournament and they both ended up in the money. Marko ended in 35th place on Day 1a where he cashed for €530 and he added another €550 to that after he finished in 37th place on Day 1b. Josip did a bit better and he finished in 21st. Josip cashed for €780.

Felix Bleiker Misses Out on Day 2

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

A player raised to 50,000 from early position and [Removed:391] called from middle position. Felix Bleiker put his last 75,000 in the middle from the button and both of his opponents called after the players in the blinds got out of the way.

The flop fell {4-Spades}{9-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and the initial raiser checked. Aouri put his chips in the middle and a quick fold followed. Aouri hit top pair with {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and he was ahead of the {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} of Bleiker.

The turn was the {9-Spades} and the river the {2-Clubs} and Bleiker got eliminated as the last person to not make Day 2.

The board was {9-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Timothee Scotti bet 53,000 from the small blind in a 90,000 pot. Vasyl Zabrodskyy raised to 150,000 from the button. The call was made by Scotti and they went to the river.

Zabrodskyy had a question for Scotti before the river was dealt.

"Flushdraw?"

Scotti didn't reply to him and the river was the {10-Diamonds}. Scotti checked to Zabrodskyy and he fired a bet of 200,000. Scotti went into the tank and it took him a little bit over a minute to flick in a call.

Zabrodskyy showed {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and he took down the pot after Scotti mucked his cards. A fist pump and a loud "My chips!" followed by Zabrodskyy.
