Derwiche Busts a Second Time

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Imad Derwiche got his stack in preflop for around 20,000 with {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts} against the {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} of Corentin Ropert and the board came {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{9-Spades}.

It was the second bullet for Derwiche, who quickly headed out of the tournament area. Besides Ropert, two other well-known French players have decent stacks on the same table in Theodore McQuilkin and Benjamin Pollak.

Merfeldas Eliminated by Grieco

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Arvydas Merfeldas
Arvydas Merfeldas

There was an open to 1,700 and Arvydas Merfeldas called before Nicola Grieco three-bet to 6,000. Both players called and the trio saw a {9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop.

It was checked by both players before Grieco moved all in for 50,000. Merfeldas called and they spun their cards on their backs.

Nicola Grieco: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Arvydas Merfeldas: {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

It was set vs overpair and Grieco was out of his seat calling for an ace. The {9-Spades} turn gave Merfeldas a full house but added two nines to Grieco's outs.

When Grieco saw the {a-Diamonds} on the river, he couldn't contain his delight, cheering and celebrating to the enjoyment of everyone, including Merfeldas who smiled graciously as he left the table.

Kober Doubles Through Greenwood

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Philipp Kober raised and jammed for 13,400 into a three-bet of Luc Greenwood, who had arrived not long ago. Greenwood called with {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} for around half his stack and Kober was one notch better with the {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}.

The board came {j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Kober doubled, as neither player had a diamond in their hand.

Petleshkov Jams Into Coren Mitchell

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Victoria Coren Mitchell checked the {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop and called a bet of 1,700 into a pot of 6,000 by Viliyan Petleshkov. The {10-Clubs} followed on the turn and Coren Mitchell quickly checked. Petleshkov emptied the clip and moved all in for 10,800, which won the pot right there without showdown.

Nussman Puts Lampropoulos in a Difficult Spot

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Romain Nussman and Maria Lampropoulos were heads up on a {5-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop. Lampropoulos checked and Nussman bet 3,800, which Lampropoulos called. The {a-Hearts} turn brought a fourth flush card and this time both players checked.

The river was the {k-Diamonds} pairing the board and Lampropoulos checked for the last time. Nussman tanked before betting a hefty 20,000 into the pot and Lampropoulos tanked even longer. Eventually the clock was called and with only five seconds left on the clock, she decided to pass.
