No Comeback For Karmatckii

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Arsenii Karmatckii (at an earlier event)
Arsenii Karmatckii (at an earlier event)

2018 EPT Sochi winner Arsenii Karmatckii will not be adding a Monegasque flag to his Hendon Mob page today. Left short after the previous clash with Paul-Francois Tedeschi, Karmatckii got it all in for 22,500 in middle position.

Ready to finish what he started, Tedeschi called from the cutoff and Roman Herold called from the small blind. They quickly checked it down on a {k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades} board.

Karmatckii showed {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, Tedeschi {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and Herold the winner with {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} to eliminate the Russian five places before the money.

Pablo Melogno
Pablo Melogno

The Money bubble is looming and Shyngis Satubayev won't receive a portion of the prize pool. Having registered before the start of Day 2 for his second bullet in the event, Satubayev ran his stack all the way up to 250,000 and just five-bet jammed into Pablo Melogno.

Satubayev had four-bet to 75,000 to force out Massimo Mosele from one seat over and he called the shove of Satubayev with {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. Satubayev only had {a-}{q-} and the board came {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts} to leave the Kazakh drawing dead on the turn.

Martini Wins From Sammartino in Marathon Hand

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Julien Martini
Julien Martini

Orpen Kisacikoglu opened from late position to 4,500 and he was called by Dario Sammartino on his direct left. Small blind Julien Martini three-bet to 22,500. The player in the big blind thought about it for a moment but he let go of his hand. Kisacikoglu folded as well but Sammartino called after about a minute.

The flop fell {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and both players checked relatively quick. The turn was the {a-Hearts} and Martini delayed c-bet 27,500 and Sammartino went into the tank. It took him about three minutes to find a call and the {3-Hearts} river completed the board.

Martini bet 66,500 this time and Sammartino went into the tank yet again. The clock was called by Kisacikoglu after Sammartino kept staring at Martini for over four minutes. He eventually let go of his hand.

Martini showed the {7-Clubs} and told Sammartino that he had the best hand. Sammartino told him he had king-high.

Sow Out in Three-Way All In

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Kalidou Sow
Kalidou Sow

The first PokerStars Ambassador to hit the rail today was Kalidou Sow. On the feature table, before the break, he found himself in a three-way all in.

It began with a 30,800 all in from Stefan Heizmann on the hijack and Sow called 20,000 all in on the cutoff. Michael Wang was on the button and went over the top for a total of 79,300, which prompted folds from the blinds.

Stefan Heizmann: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Michael Wang: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Kalidou Sow: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Heizmann was at risk to Wang and Sow was at risk to both his opponents, though he was the slight favorite at this point. The {6-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop changed everything with Heizmann soaring into the lead with a set. The {9-Diamonds} turn meant that Heizmann had locked up the side pot, with Wang drawing dead but Sow still had two queens to hit for a triple up. The river eluded him though, bringing a {k-Hearts} and the Frenchman took the elimination in his stride, smiling as he left the feature table.

Steve O'Dwyer

Li then got the clock called on him after about a minute but the floor staff ruled that he still had time to think over his decision. He did end up calling after about two minutes and they opened up.

Jinhua Li: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Steve O'Dwyer: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

The board ran out {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and O'Dwyer was eliminated from the EPT Main Event in Monte Carlo.
