Teltscher Eliminated After Short Day 2

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Mark Teltscher
Mark Teltscher

Mark Teltscher started the day with just a bit over 45,000 but he just lost his last chip in a coin flip. He was already down to 28,000 when he got it in the middle with {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. He had to win against {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} but that task seemed undoable for Teltscher.

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Teltscher was sent packing.

Jimmy Kebe (right)
Jimmy Kebe (right)

Former professional football player and Mali international Jimmy Kebe, who's more known for his poker prowess these days, was eliminated in the first level of the day. Holding {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, Kebe got it in for his last 20,500 and saw the board ran out {3-Spades}{10-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{k-Spades}.

Jean Mikhael had {a-}{j-} to make a straight on the river for an early demise of the right winger.

Duguchi Eliminated by Catan

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Yoichiro Deguchi was down to 15,200, just under 10 big blinds, and he moved all in from under the gun. It was folded all round until the action came to Guy Catan in the big blind who thought for a little while before making the call.

Guy Catan: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Yoichiro Deguchi: {a-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Deguchi was the slight favorite as the money went in. On the {3-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop, Catan took the lead, having improved to a pair of queens. The {4-Clubs} turn was no help and he had just three aces to hit on the river. Instead it came the {k-Spades} and Deguchi hit the rail.

Tough Feature Table for Fatima

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Fatima Moreira De Melo
Fatima Moreira De Melo

Fatima Moreira de Melo started the day at a tough table featuring Ramon Colillas, Maria Lampropulos, Seth Davies, and Sam Greenwood, but fortunately for her, that table was the first to break today.

However, Fatima's next table was one of the secondary feature tables that won't break down today and likely just as tough with the likes of Mustapha Kanit, Romain Lewis, Nicolas Chouity, and Celina Lin all on her side. The Olympic gold medalist and PokerStars Ambassador has her work cut out for her today if she's to make the money.

Aceto Busts Vo in Massive Pot

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Morgan Aceto
Morgan Aceto

A big pot of more than 65,000 emerged to the {7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} turn and Morgan Aceto checked in the small blind. Ut Tam Vo in the hijack bet 26,000 and Aceto moved all in for 105,100, which had Vo covered. After some consideration, Vo called and the cards were on their backs.

Ut Tam Vo: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Morgan Aceto: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Aceto had the best of it with his flopped set and turned full house, and the {8-Hearts} river sent Vo to the rail. According to Aceto after the hand, he had defended the small blind. Aceto check-raised the flop and called a reraise by Vo before the fireworks culminated on the turn in one of the biggest pots of the tournament so far.

Manig Loeser can also be found on the same table with a very healthy stack.

O'Dwyer Eliminated by Li

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Jinhua Li raised from the button to 6,600 and the player in the small blind got out of the way. O'Dwyer took his time and he put all his chips in the middle. Li asked for a count and then wanted to confirm multiple times that O'Dwyer's stack was indeed 37,300.

Li then got the clock called on him after about a minute but the floor staff ruled that he still had time to think over his decision. He did end up calling after about two minutes and they opened up.

Jinhua Li: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Steve O'Dwyer: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

The board ran out {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and O'Dwyer was eliminated from the EPT Main Event in Monte Carlo.
