James Romero
James Romero

Patrik Antonius raised to 35,000 from the button with {k-Spades}{10-Clubs} and James Romero defended his big blind with {j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

They both checked through the {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{q-Clubs} on the flop to the {k-Hearts} on the turn. Antonius had now turned two pair while Romero was sitting on a straight. Romero bet 115,000 and Antonius made the call.

The {8-Clubs} completed the board on the river and now Romero bet 300,000. Antonius tanked, using two time bank cards, and then decided to make the call but mucked when he saw Romero's hand.

Govert Metaal: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

Gambling - and poker - are banned in Iran. Beauty pageants are banned in Iran. Magic is banned in Iran. So how did Iranian Melika Razavi become a poker-playing magician who participates in beauty contests?

We wondered the same and we caught up with her during a break of the EPT Monte Carlo €5,300 Main Event, where Razavi is battling it out late on Day 3.

“Coming from that culture and background, it’s a big step for me to actually represent women in magic and being a beauty queen; I’m also a motivational speaker.”
