Malinowski Wins a Long Hand Against Adams

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Wiktor Malinowski
Wiktor Malinowski

The final hand of the level turned out to be a long one with three-way action between Nicola Grieco, Timothy Adams and Wiktor Malinowski. Grieco had opened to 45,000 and Adams called in the hijack, as did Malinowski in the big blind.

On a flop of {5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Malinowski checked and Grieco continued for 60,000. Adams called and Malinowski check-raised to 190,000, which forced a fold from Grieco and resulted in a call from Adams. After the {10-Spades} turn, Malinowski checked and called a bet of 175,000 by Adams before using two time banks on the {5-Spades} river.

Malinowski then bet 435,000 and Adams snap-folded with seven minutes gone in the 20-minute break.

Hajiyev Shoves Over Razavi

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Melika Razavi raised to 50,000 in middle position, Rustam Hajiyev three-bet to 175,000 in the cutoff and Razavi called. Both players checked the {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades} on the flop.

Razavi bet 220,000 on the {7-Hearts} turn, Hajiyev shoved all in for 490,000, and Razavi gave it up after using a time bank card.

A Reprieve for Chouity

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Nicolas Chouity
Nicolas Chouity

After suffering that huge loss against Manig Loeser just now, Nicolas Chouity has had something go his way to pull some of his losses back.

He had opened to under the gun with {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Evy Kvilhaug three-bet to 105,000 with {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}. It was a big flop for both players, with {q-Clubs}{k-Spades}{5-Clubs} coming down, giving Kvilhaug top pair, top kicker and Chouity the nut flush draw. Chouity check-called the 110,000 continuation and the two players headed until the turn.

The turn was a {6-Clubs} and Chouity hit his flush whilst Kvilhaug had the king of clubs, which would have looked like extra outs for her. She checked it back and the last card out was the {5-Spades}. Chouity bet 260,000 and it was too difficult for Kvilhaug to find a fold, leaving her under 1 million in chips despite her great start to the day.

Loeser Collides with Chouity to Create a New Chip Leader

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Manig Loeser
Manig Loeser

Nicolas Chouity raised from middle position with {6-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Manig Loeser defended his big blind with {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}. Loeser check-called a bet of 60,000 from Chouity on the {q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Spades} flop.

Then a {6-Diamonds} dropped on the turn, simultaneously giving Chouity second set but Loser the nuts with a straight. Loser checked and when Chouity bet 130,000, the German used a time bank card before raising big, for 600,000 total. Chouity also used a card and called.

With no pair on the {j-Diamonds} river, Loeser still had the best hand, albeit not the nuts with a flush possibility. With 1,430,000 in the pot, Loeser used another time bank card and bet 670,000 more. Chouity didn't appear to like the situation but made the call and the former EPT Champion took a massive hit, with 40 big blinds left in front after that hand.

Two Barrels by Vogelsang

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Christoph Vogelsang had lost some chips in several hands and now picked up some to get back above a million.

Luis Medina raised to 45,000 and Vogelsang called in the hijack, as did Nicola Grieco on the button. The {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop was checked by Medina and Vogelsang bet 60,000, only Grieco called. After the {a-Hearts} turn, Vogelsang bet 130,000 and that did the trick to shut down all further action.

Loeser Finishes Michaelis Off In Style

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Paul Michaelis
Paul Michaelis

Manig Loeser defended his big blind against a Paul Michaelis button raise and both players checked the {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop. On the {j-Spades} turn, Loeser checked, Michaelis bet 40,000, Loeser check-raised to 120,000, and Michaelis called.

The river brought the {k-Hearts} and Loeser shoved all in. Michaelis instantly called it off for his last 270,000 with {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. Unfortunately for the 2018 EPT Prague champ, Loeser rolled over {j-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for quad jacks to send Michaelis to the payout desk in 25th place.

The remaining 24 players didn't do a redraw, as one was performed at the end of the previous day, and instead, one of the outer tables was broken.

Second Double for Riess

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Ryan Riess
Ryan Riess

Ryan Riess is no longer a short-stack and has around 30 big blinds after just getting a second double up. This time it was a classic race, which he won against Bruno Volkamann. Volkmann had opened to 40,000 under the gun with {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and Riess three-bet all in to 270,000 with {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} on the cutoff. Volkmann was getting a good price and made the call but it after Riess connected on the {2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{a-Spades} flop, the Brazilian couldn't turn it around on the {6-Spades} turn or {2-Diamonds} river.
