Konopelko Bows Out

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Andrei Konopelko ended up all in and at risk for around 18,000 preflop with the {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}. Table neighbor Jerome Zerbib called with {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and had little to fear on a board of {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}.

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Sergio Castelluccio
Sergio Castelluccio

Fulvio Barbisan has been eliminated and a quick look at his former table reveals a big stack for Sergio Castelluccio. Other bigger stacks from not long ago were also among those to depart such as Fred Weiss, and Luca Marchetti.

Matthias Hansen never recovered from the kings versus aces setup and table neighbor Raffaello Locatelli is also gone, as is PokerStars ambassador Fatima Moreira De Melo.

Wang Eliminated by Martirosian

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Michael Wang faced a raise to 1,200 by Artur Martirosian in the cutoff and clicked it back to 4,000 on the button. Martirosian squeezed to 11,500 and Wang emptied the clip by moving all in for 37,200. Martirosian asked for a count and made the call with the superior stack size after a minute of consideration.

Michael Wang: {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Artur Martirosian: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The board came {q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Wang failed to connect with the board.

Counts From the Secondary Area

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

The first tables in the secondary tournament are breaking and below are selected chip counts.

Shafikov Missing; Avdagic Doubles Through Schienagel

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Denys Shafikov had a decent stack not long ago but has since vanished with a massive pile of chips in front of Dennis Schienagel. The German was involved in yet another big pot now, having claimed the stack of Shafikov with several hands, and now battled with Enes Avdagic.

On the {q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} turn, Schienagel bet 4,600 and Avdagic called. The {2-Clubs} fell on the river and Schienagel jammed, Avdagic snap-called for 20,200. Schienagel reluctantly showed {q-Spades}{10-Spades} and Avdagic had {a-Spades}{3-Clubs} for trips on the turn.

Camarda Eliminated by Schettino

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Salvatore Camarda was unfortunate enough to turn top pair on {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} when he got his stack in with the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}. Fellow Italian Andrea Schettino almost beat him into the pot with {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for a set and had the knockout secured, a meaningless {6-Spades} river was of no importance.
