Josep Maria Galindo Lopez: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Schienagel Doubles Desmottes; Caron Triples After

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Bruno Caron
Bruno Caron

Dennis Schienagel raised to 30,000 and Jean Desmottes jammed for 159,000, which the German called after some consideration.

Desmottes tabled {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Schienagel held {k-Spades}{2-Spades}. There was some uproar from the French players at the table when the flop fell {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}, but Desmottes remained in contention on the {5-Diamonds} turn and {9-Diamonds} river run out.

Soon after, Giuliano Bendinelli raised to 30,000 first and Schienagel called from one seat over, as did Luigi Shehadeh on the button. Bruno Caron jammed for 103,000 in the big blind and that was called by Schienagel and Shehadeh.

On the {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop, Schienagel jammed and Shehadeh folded with 230,000 behind.

Bruno Caron: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Dennis Schienagel: {10-Spades}{5-Spades}

The {q-Clubs} turn gave Caron the check mark and the {3-Diamonds} river was a formality.

Naicker and Levi Double

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Vladyslav Pohribnyi took a hit and lost half of his stack when his {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} could not crack the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} of Patmaseelan Naicker on a board of {q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

One table over, Shahar Levi three-bet shoved for the last 179,000 with {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} and Sam Higgs in the cutoff called with {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}. On a {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} board, Levi spiked a jack to survive.

Colillas Eliminated by Baburin

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Ramon Colillas
Ramon Colillas

The action started with a raise by Morgan Aceto and Sergey Baburin three-bet from one seat over. Ramon Colillas then four-bet all in for around 350,000 in the big blind, which forced out Aceto and brought a call from Baburin with a near-identical stack.

Ramon Colillas: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Sergey Baburin: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The board brought {q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Spades} and the stacks were counted. Baburin had 370,000 and Colillas was covered to head to the rail.

Castaignon Drags a Monster From Higgs

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Remi Castaignon
Remi Castaignon

After Sam Higgs had raised in middle position, Remi Castaignon three-bet to 140,000 on the button and Higgs paid the extra chips. The {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop got checked by both players.

On the {3-Clubs} turn, Higgs bet 230,000 and Castaignon called it off after about ten seconds.

The river brought the {2-Hearts} and Higgs considered his options.

"Five-hundred-seventy-five," he announced, followed by a lightning-quick call from Castaignon.

Defeated, Higgs flung {q-Spades}{j-Spades} open for middle pair with a queen blocker. Castaignon revealed {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a set of nines to scoop the near 2M chip pot off the Aussie and move into the lead.

Romero With the Barrels

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

With three-way action on a {j-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, Romain Meyer and Benny Glaser both checked to James Romero, who bet 80,000. Meyer and Glaser both came along with a call.

On the {3-Hearts} turn, Romero made it 260,000 after two checks and quickly got rid of Meyer. Glaser gave his left-hand neighbor an intense staredown before laying it down as well.

Soltanov And Karmatckii No More

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Arsenii Karmatckii
Arsenii Karmatckii

Stefano Schiano raised the button and Mikhail Soltanov three-bet to 72,000 in the small blind, which Schiano called after some consideration. On the {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop, Soltanov continued for 55,000 and Schiano again reluctantly made his move, raised to 130,000. Soltanov moved all in for another 100,000 on top and was snap-called.

Mikhail Soltanov: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Stefano Schiano: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}

The {5-Clubs} turn and {6-Diamonds} river were blanks.

A very similar scenario took place one table over as Arsenii Karmatckii got into a battle with Igor Tregoubov. Plenty of chips were in and the completed board showed {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. Karmatckii shoved with {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and Tregoubov called with {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} to knock out 2018 EPT Sochi champion Karmatckii.
