Kempe Delays the Double

Level 22 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

The action folded to Daniel Dvoress in the small blind who ripped all in. Rainer Kempe was in the big blind with the smaller of the two stacks, having exactly 300,000 in front of him. Kempe started to tank, eyeing up the other table with a pay jump on the line.

"I'm not folding. I'm in pretty good shape," Kempe said as he tossed in a time extension.

"How good of shape?" Dvoress questioned. "King-jack or something?"

"I have kings," Kempe laughed.

Eventually, Kempe made the call and turned over {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} against the {10-Spades}{6-Spades} of Dvoress. The board ran out {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Spades} and Kempe's ace-high was good enough for the double up.

Toma Gets a Double

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Toma Tsugunari
Toma Tsugunari

Rainer Kempe opened the action with a raise to 40,000 in middle position and was three-bet to 115,000 by Simon Lofberg in the cutoff. Action made its way around to Tsugunari Toma in the big blind and he thought for a few moments before cold four-betting all in for 445,000. Kempe quickly folded to put action back on Lofberg who vocalized the amount to confirm it.

"Four-four-five," replied Toma. "No more gambling," he added. Lofberg continued to think about his decision before ultimately making the call.

Tsugunari Toma: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Simon Lofberg: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Toma was way out in front and faded the two remaining tens in the deck as the board ran out {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades} to score the double. He stood up and let out an audible celebratory yell, resulting in a few players nearby cracking a smile and a laugh before he got back to his seat and got back to business.

Khatri Takes from Pedersen

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Simon Pedersen had opened from the cutoff and was called by Bhavin Khatri on the button to take action heads up to a flop of {2-Spades}{a-Hearts}{4-Spades}. Pedersen checked and Khatri bet 40,000. Pedersen called.

The turn came {a-Spades} and Pedersen checked again. Khatri put out another bet of 115,000 and Pedersen called again, bringing the river {6-Spades}. Pedersen checked a third time and Khatri took a chip into his hand and tapped it directly onto the dealer button to check.

Pedersen showed {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Khatri tabled {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} to win the pot with two pair, aces and nines.

Eibinger and Aslan Win Pots

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Matthias Eibinger opened to 40,000 in middle position and Yunye Lu defended from the big blind. The flop came {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Lu check-called a bet of 25,000 from Eibinger. The turn was the {4-Clubs} and both players checked to the {5-Clubs} on the river.

Lu checked again and Eibinger slung out a bet of 60,000. Lu looked him up and Eibinger showed {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a flush to scoop the pot.

In the next hand, Kemal Aslan raised to 50,000 in the cutoff and Simon Pedersen announced all in from the big blind. Aslan called off his stack of 300,000 and the cards were tabled.

Pedersen showed {a-Spades}{2-Clubs} which was slightly ahead of Aslan's {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. The board ran out {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Aslan flopped a pair of kings to score the double up.

Arsenii Karmatckii Eliminated in 15th Place (€36,610)

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Arsenii Karmatckii
Arsenii Karmatckii

Arsenii Karmatckii saw action folded to him in the cutoff and limped in. Simon Lofberg was on the button and pumped it up to 75,000 and Karmatckii reraised all in once action got back to him. Lofberg went into the tank and eventually settled on a call, slamming a chip down on the felt to signify the action.

Arsenii Karmatckii: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Simon Lofberg: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Karmatckii looked poised for a double until the flop came {q-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}, putting his top pair, top kicker firmly behind Lofberg's top two pair. He would need to find an ace or a ten to stay alive and would not do so as the turn {9-Spades} and river {4-Spades} completed the runout, resulting in his departure from the tournament in 15th place.

Four To Flop, No River Required

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Yunye Lu opened to 45,000 in middle position and was called by Simon Pedersen in the hijack. The next two players folded to put action on Fahredin Mustafov in the small blind and he came along as well, as did Gianluca Speranza in the big blind to take postflop action four ways.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{10-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and action checked to Pedersen, who was last to act among the four. He put out a bet of 65,000 and received a fold from Mustafov, a call from Speranza, and a fold from Lu.

Action was then heads up for the turn {3-Diamonds} and Speranza checked again. Pedersen thought for a few moments and then announced a bet of 160,000, and Speranza quickly sent his cards to the muck to result in Pedersen's turn bet earning him the pot.

Karmatckii and Yokosawa Chop Up Lofberg

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Arsenii Karmatckii opened to 40,000 from under the gun and Simon Lofberg three-bet to 120,000 on his left. Masato Yokosawa was next to act and used a time extension before sliding out a four-bet to 320,000. The action folded back to Karmatckii who used two of his own time extensions before pushing out a five-bet for nearly all of his chips. Lofberg folded and Yokosawa announced all in which Karmatckii called.

Arsenii Karmatckii: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Masato Yokosawa: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

The flop of {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} provided a small sweat but the {3-Hearts} on the turn ensured the two players would chop the pot. The insignificant {5-Diamonds} completed the board and they each took their chips back.

Sam Greenwood Eliminated in 16th Place (€32,900)

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

Ludovic Geilich was under the gun and raised to 45,000, prompting action to fold around to Sam Greenwood in the big blind. Greenwood looked down at his hand and then looked over to the other table. He used up his shot clock and tossed in an extension, picking up the rest of his cards and fanning them out to count them. He proceeded to use every extension as play continued on the adjacent table and then went all in for his last few big blinds once he could wait no longer. Geilich quickly called.

Sam Greenwood: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}
Ludovic Geilich: {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

"I have a really good hand," said Greenwood as he turned over his hand, happy that he had not been dealt two rags in the big blind with such a short stack. However, he was still behind and his odds only deteriorated from there as the flop came {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. He said that maybe a club would come on the turn, but instead it fell {3-Spades} to give Geilich aces up and leave Greenwood drawing dead.

Geilich's hand was tabled barely in front of him in the two-seat so he took it and tossed it a little further out towards the middle of the table as the river fell {4-Hearts} to complete the runout with his two pair being displayed as the best hand, ending Greenwood's run at a second High Roller title for the series in the process.
