Calamusa Shows a King

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

A big pot emerged between French prodigy Pierre Calamusa and 2019 World Series of Poker Europe bracelet winner Tomas Fara, and they had some 18,000 in the middle to the river of a board {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{a-Diamonds}.

Calamusa bet 15,000 for around half of the stack of Fara, who went into the think tank and eventually folded. Calamusa offered to show one card and Fara revealed the {k-Diamonds}.

"That's a nice one," the Czech joked.

Jurga Knocks Out Manole

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Mihai Manole went all in from early position for the last few chips remaining in his stack and action folded around to Ladislav Jurga, who called out of the big blind.

Mihai Manole: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Ladislav Jurga: {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

The board ran out {7-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Clubs} to give Jurga two pair, tens and eights and improve him beyond Manole's ace-king to go along with the board's pair of tens. A few players at the table offered their condolences to Manole, to which he gracefully said that today was not his day before getting up and exiting the tournament area.

Im Eliminated by Jozonis

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

With some 9,000 in the middle and the turn showing {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, Yungshin Im checked and Tomas Jozonis bet 6,500. Im moved all in for more than double of that and Jozonis eventually tossed in a single chip for the call.

Youngshin Im: {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Tomas Jozonis: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

The {2-Hearts} on the river was a brick and Im was sent to the rail.

Dang Dusts Kuzmanovic

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

An all-in and a call were overheard as Boris Kuzmanovic committed the last of his chips from early position into a pot of 6,700 on a flop of {8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Hai Dang was the caller from the cutoff and both hands were tabled thereafter.

Boris Kuzmanovic: {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Hai Dang: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Kuzmanovic found his nut flush draw up against Dang's better ace, giving himself nine diamonds and three sevens to improve in addition to running straight cards. The turn {9-Spades} gave him three more outs at the gutshot, but he was unable to hit as the river {j-Clubs} completed the runout with his ace being second best to that of Dang's to result in his elimination from the tournament.

Kavoukis Raises Out Staszko on River

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Efstathios Kavoukis was in early position and opened to 1,600. He saw action fold around to Martin Staszko, who defended his big blind, and the two saw the flop come {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Staszko checked and Kavoukis made a continuation-bet of 1,000. Staszko called.

Both players checked the turn {k-Clubs} to bring the river {k-Diamonds}, and Staszko fired out a bet of 1,600. Kavoukis thought for about 30 seconds and then put out a raise to 6,700.

Staszko wasted no time sending his cards to the muck, releasing them at the same time the dealer announced a raise to earn Kavoukis the pot.

Nines Good for Sasek

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

A player in early position opened to 1,200 and action folded around to Milan Sasek, who called out of the cutoff. The player on the button and the big blind both called as well and the four players saw a flop of {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts}. The big blind checked to the original opener, who fired out a continuation-bet of 3,500. Only Sasek called. Both players then checked both the turn {q-Hearts} and river {k-Clubs} to take the hand to showdown.

The early-position player showed {10-Spades}{8-Spades} for a pair of eights and Sasek turned over {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, good to earn him the pot with his pair of nines.

Ye Eliminated by Erlei

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Yi Ye moved all in for the last 3,200 in the hijack and was called by Shakhabiddin Muradov in the cutoff. Udo Erlei on the button reraised to 12,000 and Muradov counted his stack before sending the cards into the muck.

Yi Ye: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Udo Erlei: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Ye flopped the nut flush draw on {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, but the {4-Clubs} turn and {5-Clubs} river run out brought no miracle.
