Locatelli Wins at Showdown

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

There was around 4,700 in the pot from preflop action on a board of {9-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades} with heads-up action between the big blind and Raffaello Locatelli, who was in early position. The big blind checked and Locatelli thought for a few moments before checking behind.

The turn was {9-Clubs} and the big blind put out a bet of 1,200. Locatelli called. The river fell {3-Clubs} and both players checked to take the hand to showdown.

The big blind showed {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} for an ace kicker to the board's pair of nines and Locatelli tabled {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for two pair, nines and fives, good to earn him the pot.

Pettersson Doesn't Buy the Check-Raise

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

There was 3,300 in the pot on a board of {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Thomas Pettersson was in a heads up pot in early position against the small blind, who checked. Petterson bet 1,200 and his opponent check-raised to 4,000, which he called after a few moments of thought.

The dealer brought the river {4-Diamonds} and the small blind pumped the brakes, checking again after his check-raise on the turn. Pettersson bet 8,500 and his opponent studied the bet for no more than 15 seconds before nodding and sending his cards to the muck.

Malec Takes From Cvetkoic

Sebastian Malec
Sebastian Malec

On a flop of {q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Andrija Cvetkovic checked over to Sebastian Malec and called a bet of 300. He then checked again the {j-Diamonds} turn and Malec fired a second barrel worth 700. That did the trick to win the pot for the former EPT Barcelona Main Event champion while Cvetkovic remains the biggest stack on their table early on.

Quintas Loses Small Pot

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante
Jose Quintas
Jose Quintas

With some 1,200 in the middle and the completed board showing {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, the action checked to Jose Quintas on the button and he made it 500 to go. Andrei Mjagkov called in the small blind and Carle Theo sent his cards into the muck.

Quintas revealed the {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} but it was no good against the {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} of his table neighbor. The Portuguese reached the final table of the €1,100 EPT National at the festival in Barcelona earlier this year and will aim to do the same in Prague.

Liao Out-Kicks Opponent at Showdown

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

A player in middle position opened to 300 and was called by the hijack before Xiaoyong Liao three-bet to 1,300 from the cutoff. The original raiser called and the hijack folded, prompting the dealer to announce a heads-up pot as he brought a flop of {10-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. Liao's opponent checked to him and he made a continuation-bet of 1,500. His opponent called.

The turn came {6-Hearts} and the middle-position player led out, betting 2,000. Liao called. Both players then checked the river {j-Spades} to take the hand to showdown.

The middle-position player tabled {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}, showing queens up with a king kicker. Liao did one better, showing {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} to earn him the pot with his ace kicker.

"Please, Don't Slow Roll Me!"

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante
Rifat Palevic
Rifat Palevic

There was around 6,500 in the middle on a board of {2-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades} in a heads up pot between Rifat Palevic in the small blind and a player who was under the gun. Palevic checked to his opponent, who put out a bet of 4,500. Palevic asked how much the player had, thinking for a bit before putting out a check-raise to 10,000.

His opponent then went into the tank and Palevic talked a bit more about how he had just thrown in a small raise. A friend of his had just walked into the room and walked by Palevic's table, prompting him to let his friend know that he was in a pot and had just put in a raise. His friend stuck around and the two joked about whether he was going to lose the hand or hit the river as the under-the-gun player made the call to bring the river {7-Diamonds}.

"I'm all in," said Palevic, lifting up stacks of chips and putting them back down onto the felt in front of him, with each stack dropping slightly more forcefully. His opponent went into the tank.

"Please, don't slow roll me!" said Palevic with a laugh. "My heart is going ba-bump, ba-bump, ba-bump!"

His opponent told him he only had kings with a little smile and Palevic confirmed he already knew that. The player found a fold after a few more seconds and Palevic took down the pot.

He lifted up his cards to show his friend and his opponent asked to see as well. Palevic told him he had a full house, kings full and began to laugh, changing his tune to say he showed his friend the {2-Diamonds}.

"I flopped a flush draw and turned trips," said Palevic. "That was why I checked to you on the turn - I knew you had the king," he added as he raked in the pot, bringing him close to two starting stacks in the process.

Hulme Busts Snaider

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante
Andrew Hulme
Andrew Hulme

With plenty of chips already in the middle and the flop reading {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, Andrew Hulme checked out of the small blind and Abram Snaider made it 3,000 to go. Hulme check-raised to 25,000 and Snaider called all in for around 18,000.

Abram Snaider: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Andrew Hulme: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The {q-Hearts} turn and {2-Spades} river run out failed to improve Snaider and he headed to the rail.
