Candelari Doubles Through Marsh

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Luke Marsh made it 35,000 to go from under the gun and Francesco Candelari jammed from the hijack for 186,000. Marsh asked for a count and eventually made the call.

Francesco Candelari: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Luke Marsh: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

Candelari already stood up from his chair and was ready to go, turning around after he saw the {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop. However, he had reason to celebrate when the {k-Spades} fell on the turn and the {q-Diamonds} river kept the Italian in contention.

Markus Durnegger raised to 32,000 from under the gun and big stack Gaby Livshitz in the big blind announced all-in.

Durnegger studied the tournament screen that had just updated to 33 players remaining. He used a time bank and Livshitz engaged in table chat.

"I hope you are not slowrolling me but that would be awesome," Livshitz said and Durnegger sigh-called shortly after.

Markus Durnegger: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Gaby Livshitz: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop changed nothing while Durnegger picked up chop outs on the {9-Clubs} turn.

"An eight for the chop," Livshitz said and Durnegger replied "that would be fair." A blank {3-Clubs} came on the river and Durnegger bowed out in 33rd place for €20,540.

Francesco Candelari
Francesco Candelari

Gab Yong Kim opened to 42,000 and Morten Hvam three-bet to 117,000 on the button. Francesco Candelari flat-called in the big blind and Kim folded.

Candelari check-called 80,000 on the {5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop and the turn was the {3-Spades}. Candelari checked and Hvam moved all in.

As Candelari was tanking with a pay jump after the next elimination, Wing Sang Lee was all in for 98,000 on a separate table. He had been called by Luigi Shehadeh.

Wing Sang Lee: {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Luigi Shehadeh: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The board came {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{a-Spades}{k-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Lee doubled up.

Meanwhile, Candelari finally called with {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} and was delighted to be ahead of the {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} of Hvam. However, the river was the {8-Diamonds} and Candelari let out a cry of anguish as he was eliminated.

The remaining 31 players are guaranteed €23,560.

Zukernik Eliminated by Szecsi

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Philipp Zukernik and Norbert Szecsi
Philipp Zukernik and Norbert Szecsi

Norbert Szecsi announced a raise and didn't see that Philipp Zukernik had not acted yet and Zukernik then opted to limp, Szecsi raised to 35,000 and Zukernik limp-raised to 130,000, which Szecsi called. The flop brought {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Zukernik continued for 130,000, which Szecsi raised up to 350,000.

Zukernik made the call and an already big pot was heading to the {4-Clubs} turn. Zukernik opted to check this time and Szecsi bet 225,000, the call of Zukernik followed.

After the {8-Clubs} river, Zukernik checked with just shy of 700,000 behind and Szecsi announced a bet of 750,000.

Zukernik burned through four time banks and the hand already lasted several minutes into the break. He then made the call and Szecsi rolled over {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for a full house while Zukernik mucked the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} in disgust to finish in 31st place for €23,560.
