Another Premium Hand Clash on Table 1

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

There have been many, many big pocket pairs over on Table 1 and just now was no exception. Daniil Kiselev opened under the gun and Valery Yantsevich moved in for 113,000 on his direct left. When everyone else had moved aside Kiselev called but it turned out he was the 4:1 underdog in the hand.

Valery Yantsevich: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Daniil Kiselev: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Yantsevich got a much-needed double on the {4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts} board, whilst Kiselev is one of the shortest stacks now.

Daniil Kiselev raised on the button and Valery Yantsevich three-bet from the small blind. Pete Chen was in the big blind and he cold four-bet, which prompted Kiselev to move aside. Back on Yantsevich and he set Chen all in, which was quickly called and the cards were spun over.

Pete Chen: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Valery Yantsevich: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

Chen held on the {6-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades} board and he is the second player to exceed 700,000 chips.

Sarkarov Flying

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Elvin Sarkarov
Elvin Sarkarov

Elvin Sarkarov has moved into the chip lead for the first time this tournament. He was in a huge pot against Artem Vezhenkov with {5-Spades}{k-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{k-Hearts} down. Sarkarov bet the river and snap-called when Vezhenkov set him all in.

Elvin Sarkarov: {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Artem Vezhenkov: {6-Spades}{7-Hearts}

Sarkarov's straight was good for the lot and he is flying after winning that pot. Vezhenov has around 35 big blinds still to play with.

Bondar Hits the Rail

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Andrey Bondar
Andrey Bondar

Andrey Bondar got the last of his chips in and both Rushad Iskandarov and Sergey Kolyasnikov called in the small and big blinds respectively.

There was no further betting on the {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{j-Spades} flop. Iskandarov bet 10,000 on the {5-Hearts} turn, which Kolyasnikov called, generating a side pot. Both players checked the {7-Clubs} river.

Rushad Iskandarov: {a-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Sergey Kolyasnikov: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Andrey Bondar: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

Bondar was unfortunate not to win as he had been a long way ahead preflop and he has to head towards the exit just a few places outside of the money.

Clash of the Monsters Catapults Shaykhov into the Chip Lead

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Irshat Shaykhov
Irshat Shaykhov

All the money went in preflop and when the cards went over it was the it turned out to be cooler stations for two of the players involved.

Irshat Shaykhov: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Sergey Kolyasnikov: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Vladimir Lappo: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The board held for Shakov's rockets and he was delighted, cheering as the chips (and the chip lead) came his way. Meanwhile Vladimir Lappo has been sent to the rail and former chip leader Sergey Kolyasnikov has taken a hit but remains in good shape nonetheless.

Good Fortune for Chen

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Pete Chen raised 13,000 under the gun and had two calls behind, from Sergey Kolyasnikov in middle position and Irshat Shaykhov on the cutoff.

On the {j-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop, Chen continued for 33,000, which prompted a fold from Kolyasnikov but Shaykhov came along.

The turn was the {5-Hearts} and Chen bet 85,000 all in. Shaykhov called and was a long way ahead with {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} to Chen's {k-Spades}{10-Spades}. That all changed on the {k-Clubs}, giving Chen a lifeline and a decent stack to boot.
