Novoselov Eliminated by Kolyasnikov

It is all going on over on Table 4, with yet another elimination taking place there. This time it was Novoselov's turn to hit the rail. He kick-started the betting with a 6,500 open and Kartik Ved three-bet him to 17,000 from the small blind. Day 1 chip leader Sergey Kolyasnikov called and Novoselov went all in for 98,000 total. It was a fold from Ved before Kolyasnikov made what looked like a grudging call and it turned out he was a long way behind Novoselov.

The flop couldn't have been much better for Kolyasnikov, who soared into the lead. Novoselov understandably rose from his seat at this point, before the dealer put the turn and river down, which were no help to him.

Yantsevich Takes Chip Lead After Eliminating Two Opponents

PokerNews was alerted to Table 4 by a few gasps from the players sat at it. Gor Kazaryan had opened the betting to 6,500 from under the gun and Tobias Matuschek had moved all in for 56,000. Ezequiel Waigel went over the top, making it 133,000 total. When the action came to Valery Yantsevich, he called and Gor Kazaryan open-folded ace-king. It turned out to be the correct decision when the cards were turned over.

The board ran out and Yantsevich scooped the lot for a monstrous lead in the counts now. Meanwhile, we imagine Gor Kazaryan is wishing he didn't make such a big lay down as he would have quadrupled his short stack.

Gao Doubles Through Kalinin

Less than 45 minutes into the first level today and the steady run of eliminations continues. We have just lost another player after Denis Timofeev ran into Arseniy Karmatskiy's .

The board couldn't help Timofeev and Karmatskiy told him "good game" as he got up to leave. Karmatskiy is up to almost 100 big blinds after that hand.

Kiselev Surpasses 300,000 Chips

Daniil Kiselev started the day second in chips but has already nabbed the top spot after eliminating Radik Lyapin. It began with an open from Kiselev and Lyapin defended from the big blind.

On the flop, Lyapin chose to lead for 7,000 and Kiselev called. The turn was the and Lyapin bet another 10,000 into the pot. Kiselev upped it, setting his opponent all in and Lyapin called.
