Bit of Luck Keeps Kalinin In

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

With only 18,500 (around 9 big blinds) and sat in the button, Nikita Kalinin moved all in when the came unopened to him. Xiaotian Yang was in the big blind and made the call and Kalinin was in bad shape when the cards went over.

Nikita Kalinin: {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Xiaotian Yang: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

The {2-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop looked nice and safe for Yang. The turn was the {7-Spades} and only a four for the gutshot would do for the all in player. The river was the {4-Spades} and a straight for Kalinin keeps him in the game.

Shalamov Building

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Mikhail Shalamov has doubled his stack since the start of the day. His most recent chips came via a pot against Aleksandr Orlov and Said Butba. The three were facing a {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Clubs} flop and after both checked to him, Shalamov bet 8,500 and took it down.

Lavrov Doubles Through Breshkov

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

On a {3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{j-Hearts} board Denis Lavrov checked and Oleg Breshkov continued for 5,000. Lavrov check-raised all in for around 25,000 and Breshkov called.

Denis Lavrov: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Oleg Breshkov: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

The turn {4-Diamonds} and river {2-Diamonds} changed nothing and Lavrov doubled up.

Andreev in Trouble

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

It has been a tough 60 minutes for Andrey Andreev as his stack has just taken another hit and again it was Andrey Bondar who did the hitting.

There was at least 20 big blinds in the middle on the {5-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop and after a check from Andreev, Bondar moved all in for 45,900, which was more than pot. Aleksandr Kopasov was also in the hand at this point prompty got out of the way and it was a very speedy call from Andreev.

Andrey Bondar: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Andrey Andreev: {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Bondar was in excellent shape with a better kicker and a better flush draw to accompany his pair of aces and the {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts} turn and river bricked, netting him the pot.

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Aram Sargsyan was one of the 30 or so players to jump into the Main Event at the start of Day 2 but is now heading back from whence he came.

Sargsyan got it in with {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} against the {9-Hearts}{9-Spades} of Maksim Pisarenko but there was no help on the {j-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and he was eliminated.
