Gao Xiang checked and Blaz Zerjav bet 600. Corel Theuma called, Enzo Vito folded and Xiang came along as well.

The river was the {3-Clubs}. Xiang led out for 2,600 and Zerjav folded. Theuma called.

Xiang showed {5-Hearts}{4-Spades} for five-high and flicked his chips towards Theuma who turned over {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for bottom two pair.

Middleton had his opponent dominated and, miraculously, the flop landed {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{k-Spades} give him trips and leave Nixon drawing to just a runner-runner flush before the board finished out {8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} to earn Middleton the small double and save him from behind the first elimination of the tournament.
